Job Description

We are seeking a highly movtivated and suitably-qualifed individual to fill the role of Deputy Technical Director.
You will be the second-in-charge in the NSCC technical team. Working very closely with the Technical Director and the NSCC senior management team, you will be involved key operational and strategic activities which may include:
Managing, overseeing and coordinating the different technical functional roles in NSCC to ensure that:
routine operations run smoothly
services rendered are timely and in line with NSCC's objectives
resources are used optimally
procedural and governance guidelines/requirements are adhered to
Working with the Business Development team to ensure that NSCC is able to fulfil users' requirements
Planning for and implementing enhancements to NSCC's offerings and operations, including system upgrades and expansion of service offerings
Long-term strategic planning for major upgrades or enhancements
Expert advise to NSCC and partners on technical matters related to supercomputing or peripheral issues
Qualifications
A post-graduate degree in Computer/Computational Science, Computer/Computational Engineering or a similar field. A Master's degree is the minimal requirement, while a PhD is greatly preferred.
Experience
A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in a similar environment, of which the last 3 years or more should be in a senior technical leadership role.
Sound working knowledge of supercomputer operations and paradigms which may include, but are not limited to:

• Parallel programming (MPI, OpenMP, Cuda, OpenCL, etc.)
• Parallel debugging (ARM DDT, etc.)
• Job scheduling (PBS preferred)
• Containers and virtual machines
• Systems/storage architecture
• Mathematical libraries (ATLAS, MKL, etc.)
• Scientific visualisaion

Competency in or familiarity with periphery IT issues which may include, but are
not limited to:

• networking
• web technologies
• cyber-security
• ITIL processes
