[What the role is]
The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) is Singapore\xe2\x80\x99s central bank and integrated financial regulator.

As central bank, MAS promotes sustained, non-inflationary economic growth through the conduct of monetary policy and close macroeconomic surveillance and analysis. It manages Singapore\xe2\x80\x99s exchange rate, official foreign reserves, and liquidity in the banking sector.

[What you will be working on]

MAS\xe2\x80\x99 Data Analytics & Engineering Division (DAE) contributes to MAS\xe2\x80\x99 broader initiatives to position itself and Singapore\xe2\x80\x99s finance sector for the digital economy through data science and engineering capabilities. We are hiring experienced data scientists to help MAS further grow its strategic data capabilities, and to innovate in partnership with public agencies, research, & private data science community.

As a member of the DAE interdisciplinary data science team, you are expected to perform the following roles:

Technical Leader: Drive and deliver value to MAS businesses through problem solving and data science product building in a tech-business collaboration setting.

Analytics Partner: Plan and deliver targeted analytics training and awareness programmes to all MAS staffs, through collaborating with MAS Academy.

You will be working in a fast-paced environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and needs of stakeholders, as well as the agility to respond to changes and developments.

[What we are looking for]

2+ years of applied financial industry experience working with complex datasets, including curation, aggregation, exploratory data analysis, and visualization.

Good amount of practical experience in using statistical or machine learning methods to analyse data, identify trends and patterns, discover insights, and construct productionable models.

Good ability in managing, processing, and visualizing high-dimensional tabular data in python or R.

Good experience in extracting business requirement, identifying key business values, translating business solutions into technical problem statements, collaborating with business users, and managing business stakeholders.

Specialized technical knowledge in natural language processing, statistical data analysis, econometrics, financial time series analysis and forecasting, machine learning model building, or data pipelining is considered an added advantage.

Bachelor/Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in a quantitative discipline including computer science, electrical engineering, statistics, and other related fields.

Strong communication skills, an ability to clearly articulate insights to meet the end users\xe2\x80\x99 expectation
