A TYPICAL DAY

After getting coffee from the Staff Lounge, I head down to the Design Department to check on a large 3D print that had been running overnight for a school play; it still has a few hours to go. I review the class schedule for the day and gather the necessary resources for the Year 8 apron design activity. Once classes begin, I assist the teacher by demonstrating to a new learner how to safely operate the sewing machine. Afterwards, I move on to the next class to replace 2 broken needles.

There are no classes in the period before lunch so I take my break at the Eco Cafe terrace. After my lunch break, I conduct a risk assessment of the newly arrived heat press. I then assist three Year 10 students in transferring graphics onto fabric through ink sublimation for a charity fashion show they are organizing. In the afternoon, I join the Design Department for their collaboration meeting and suggest ways on how the learners can prototype a new project in Year 9. I take note of the required materials and submit the request to our purchasing executives.

At the end of the school day, I oversee the Makerspace Co-Curricular Activity (CCA) where 8 learners are learning how to design and create resin art. I remove the 3D prints from the Ultimaker S5 and Bambu Labs X1Carbon printers so that the students can collect them in the morning. Finally, I ensure the Lego robotics spike hubs are charged for the next day\'s lesson.
