This is our pledge to meet an ambitious goal: the elimination of all greenhouse gases from our work by 2030.Your RoleAs a Design Manager at Gensler, you will have a successful track record of managing all phases of projects and will have overall responsibility for client satisfaction, quality control and financial performance. You will deploy resources to ensure that the work process flows smoothly and act as the primary liaison between the team and client.   • Manage all phases of design throughout project scope for architectural/interior design projects, including project set-up and construction administration
  • Manage multiple aspects of client, team, and project scheduling, budgets, project delivery including full documentation coordination with consultants
  • Manage communication between project team, client, vendors, contractors, and consultants
  • Manage, track and be accountable for financial performance of project
  • Prepare and Manage project team work-plans across a range of team sizes, comprising of project architects, interior designers and consultants
  • Coordinate with Studio Directors, Design Directors, Technical Directors, project team members, clients and other project stakeholders to execute realization of project design goals
  • Coordinate the QC process; understanding the key players and influencing them to gain compliance to applicable building codes, regulations and internal standards
  • Communicate: as the main interface with clients and contractors.
Design Delivery
  • Responsible for oversight and delivery of documents with design intent and top-notch technical quality
  • Maintain and oversee the project manual and specifications
  • Conduct on-site observations and document site reviews
  • Process submittals/substitution requests during construction and address RFI
  • Prepare project proposals, negotiate contracts and fees, coordinate bidding process
  • Ensure projects conform to contract
  • Proactively lead teams for successful delivery of projects
  • Establish and maintain ongoing, productive client relationships

Your Qualifications
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Architecture or related field.
  • 6-8 years of relevant experience
  • Professional license or certification preferred.
  • Experience negotiating project scope, fees, managing project financial performance, and ensuring fiscal responsibility for projects.
  • Experience with the full project lifecycle, through post-occupancy.
  • Knowledge of building codes, standards and building structures.
  • Basic technical understanding of architectural design, interior and furniture specification.
  • Knowledge in sustainable design principles required.
  • LEED, WELL, Greenmark or other rating systems accreditation preferable.
  • Understand key principles for leading and achieving net zero projects.
  • Capacity to drive sustainability focused discussions with clients and teams.
  • Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices required.
Your Design Technology QualificationsEssential
  • Familiarity with the BIM project lifecycle through design, construction and operational phases.
  • Understanding of BIM deliverables and terminology in contracts.
  • Good knowledge and experience with collaboration within the BIM context, including cloud-based markups, consultant coordination and clash detection.
  • Experience in establishing and managing BIM teams for project design and delivery.
  • Experience in managing design teams with Revit/Rhino/Grasshopper skills.
Desirable
  • Basic understanding and familiarity with real-time rendering processes, and material creation & management within the context of integrated BIM and parametric workflows.
  • Understanding of the capabilities and application of Information Management tools such as Aconex, Asite, Newforma, etc.
