About the Role

We are seeking an experienced

Development Manager

to lead our software engineering teams in designing and delivering scalable enterprise platforms. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader with proven expertise in

Java-based system architecture

,

microservices

, and

cloud-native development (AWS/Kubernetes)

, capable of translating business goals into robust technical strategies.

Key Responsibilities

1. Team & Project Leadership

Lead multiple cross-functional teams (Frontend, Backend, Mobile, QA) to deliver high-quality software projects on time. Drive Agile/Scrum development practices, sprint planning, and continuous improvement initiatives. Mentor engineers through regular 1-on-1 sessions and technical workshops to foster a high-performance culture.

2. System Architecture & Design

Define and implement scalable

microservice architectures

and

API design standards

. Oversee system performance optimization, load testing, and cloud deployment strategies. Collaborate with product managers and business stakeholders to align technology roadmaps with business objectives.

3. Cloud & DevOps Integration

Champion

CI/CD pipelines

,

automated testing

, and

code quality frameworks

(Jenkins, SonarQube, Docker, Kubernetes). Lead the migration of legacy systems to modern

AWS-based microservice platforms

. Partner with QA and infrastructure teams to ensure system reliability, scalability, and security compliance.

4. Strategic Technology Management

Contribute to long-term technology strategy and innovation initiatives. Evaluate new tools and frameworks to enhance team productivity and system efficiency. Establish coding standards, architecture governance, and best practices across the organization.

Requirements

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Experience:

10+ years of experience in

enterprise application development

, including at least 3 years in a

managerial or technical leadership

role. Proven success in managing

large-scale distributed systems

and

cross-regional engineering teams

. Strong background in

Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and RESTful API development

. Hands-on experience with

AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins

, and

CI/CD automation

. Familiarity with

frontend frameworks

(React, Angular) and

mobile app integration

is an advantage.

Skills & Attributes:

Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making capabilities. Fluent in English and Mandarin to liaise with regional stakeholders and technical teams.
