Job Description

We are seeking a social-media-savvy Digital Editor to create, lead and manage quality digital content for our SPH Lifestyle Media title.

The Digital Editor\xe2\x80\x99s role is to increase both engagement and revenue for the website, including digital video campaigns as well as social media. He/She should be editorially-minded and revenue-focused.

The Digital Editor will produce engaging online content, video, and e-newsletters for the website, as well as interface with the editorial and business teams to facilitate the development and ongoing improvement of editorial content, lead ideation and identify monetisation opportunities, and deliver quality branded content for clients\xe2\x80\x99 advertising campaigns.

A leadership role, the Digital Editor will manage a team of digital creatives, journalists, producers and content creators to create engaging and entertaining videos and stories for the website and all social media platforms.

Job Functions

\xe2\x97\x8f Create, implement and manage a digital and social strategy that communicates brand values and ensures consistent editorial tone across the platforms, increases brand awareness and audience engagement in creative and innovative ways, as well as generate ideas to grow online communities.

\xe2\x97\x8f Oversee day-to-day operations and manage workflow and processes of the title website and editorial team to maximise impact and cost efficiency. Create, commission, edit and track editorial content across all digital media, including repurposing content from print for use on the web and social media. Monitor engagement and conversations on social media and look for ways to tap into these conversations to enhance our content and grow audiences.

\xe2\x97\x8f Maintain an acute knowledge of the developments and trends in fashion and beauty in order to create and execute video and online content that will attract, grow and convert audiences. Keep abreast of developments in digital communications and evaluate our own digital capabilities.

\xe2\x97\x8f Work closely with Media Solutions department to execute SEO strategy for the website; track and analyze conversion metrics to identify problems and opportunities; analyze key web and email newsletter metrics to determine the success of the current strategy; and execute changes when needed to maximize open and click-through rates and conversions.

Requirements

\xe2\x97\x8f At least 3 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in digital magazine journalism, with experience in video creation.

\xe2\x97\x8f A solid understanding of SEO techniques, user experience and web accessibility. Experience in using social media and various monitoring tools (such as Google Analytics), including a strategic understanding of best practices in this area.

\xe2\x97\x8f A keen interest and eye for women\xe2\x80\x99s fashion and in-depth knowledge of fashion and beauty trends, and the ability to respond creatively to emerging trends.

\xe2\x97\x8f Superior organisational and time management skills, ability to multi-task and manage projects, priorities and tight deadlines. Manage a team of creatives/journalists and engage the entire editorial team to actively participate and produce quality content for website and all social media platforms.

\xe2\x97\x8f Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders to achieve company goals.

\xe2\x97\x8f Strong analytical skills, with a solid knowledge of and ability to use website and Google Analytics to optimize attraction, retention, and revenue goals.
