POSITION SUMMARY

Manages all online marketing and social media initiatives for a hotel. Plan and execute marketing campaigns at a property level, enabling more customized and need based online marketing for hotels. Core role is to optimize the website marketing, manage the use of the online content management tools for third parties &/or Marriott branded websites, manage and execute online advertising plan and be the primary owner of all relevant online reporting and be responsible for all Social media activities.

Key responsibility is to drive marketing solutions that will improve performance for the various online channels and together with Revenue Management team to support property\xe2\x80\x99s overall Revenue Per Available Room (RevPar) index and other key customer metrics according to brand.

Main Responsibilities

  • Create individual marketing plans for the hotel to drive revenue across all online customers segments (leisure travel), and work with Marketing Communications Manager, Director of Sales & Marketing, General Manager and Director of Revenue Management to ensure a smooth execution.
  • Champion of all Social media communications and brand positioning
  • Online advertising campaigns and Key word campaigns
  • Developing online web pages that promote the properties, and special offers (SOP) tied in with the destination or with the specific brand
  • Manage the hotels Guest communications platform and develop innovative communications plans
  • Destination/Hotel specific site sites development and management
  • Other Marriott websites marketing channels
  • Local and regional third party relationship executing third party tactical campaigns
  • Third party website auditing
  • Support Divisional Online Marketing Team to provide monthly and quarterly analysis including performance of campaigns and channels, along with return on investment statistics. Maximize and optimize the performance of all online marketing channels based on these results.
  • Own the results for each property through tracking and analysis, using our proprietary performance measurement tool and other tracking systems.
  • Leverage best practices in marketing, marketing operations and working closely with Marriott Digital Services (MDS).
Website Content Management & Maintenance
  • Work with Divisional Online Marketing Manager to ensure property content/offers are up to date and consistent with brand strategies. Develop and submit offers on the hotel\xe2\x80\x99s Special Offer Page(s) and Destination Site(s) (if relevant). Develop landing pages for hotel(s) and destination(s) as directed.
  • Supervise online marketing campaigns with approved online agency.
  • Ensure brand consistency and reinforcement in all marketing copy, photography, communications and programs.
  • Write/proof-read copy and creative for all promotional offers
  • Research and develop promotions/partnerships with local attractions to further hotels\xe2\x80\x99 web presence and online revenue, and negotiate on behalf of the hotels in the region for new online marketing initiatives.
  • Write text, prepare photos & work with creative for the specific opportunities
  • Locate and add our hotels to new partner marketing linking opportunities.
  • Manage and update the hotels B&F dining site, work with the hosting company to implement improvements and enhancements
  • Manage the hotels database and online EDM distribution for all promotional offers
Third Party Account Management
  • Act as the primary point person for all local and regional third party accounts
  • Plan and execute tactical marketing plan through strategic third party channels according to brand strategies
  • Maintain ongoing communication with key local and regional third party accounts
  • Host a monthly meeting with RM to address key soft spot period and need. Propose a quarterly plan for relevant third party account accordingly
  • Liaise and address BRG concerns/issues with the property\xe2\x80\x99s Revenue Manager
  • Provide ad hoc reporting as needed for hotels\xe2\x80\x99 meetings, etc.
  • Support Divisional Online Marketing team on monthly reporting from third party partners.
Guest Communication Tool
  • Manage the development, execution and tracking of offers, Marriott\xe2\x80\x99s proprietary property level email marketing/CRM tool.
  • Design marketing strategies to drive stay-related revenue, as well as offers that will generate repeat business for participating hotels.
  • Own the development and implementation of promotional offers to ensure timeliness to market.
  • Liaise with hotel operations teams on implementation of offers. Ensure offers are properly tagged and are being tracked.
  • Track, measure and provide analysis on success rate and \xe2\x80\x9cReturn on Investment\xe2\x80\x9d to ensure we optimize on all future offers.
  • Write/proof-read copy and creative for all promotional offers
  • Build community with regional counterparts to learn about and leverage system-wide best practices
  • Create and maintain matrix for hotel operations and reservations team on all promotions for the region to ensure consistency in offers and assurance that no overlap promotion exists.
Media Planning & Analysis
  • Own rolling promotional marketing plans and schedules for individual property.
  • Support and manage Regional Marketing Planning and Performance Tool, by submitting & loading marketing offer into the tool and ensuring appropriate tracking tags are in place to ensure accurate measurement of each initiative.
  • Analyze user behaviour on Special Offer Pages and Destination Sites to help optimize on initiatives going forward.
  • Ensures that the outsourced service provider and graphic artists work are progressive and perform to the best of their ability, consistent with the image and standards of the hotel. Conducts periodic assessment for graphic artist and printer and makes necessary recommendations
Other Projects and Responsibilities
  • Develop property or cluster related emails and direct marketing campaigns with approved vendors/corporate resources
Coordinate billing and budget management of individual properties for related online marketing expenses.

Education
  • Minimum Certificate and/or Diploma or equivalent in the Hospitality Industry
Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in Hotel Communications or related fields
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Detailed-oriented and results-driven with strong project and event management skills
  • Excellent written and spoken English is a must.
  • Most tasks are performed in a team environment with the PR Manager acting as a Talent Coach. There is minimal direct supervision.
  • Extensive knowledge of the hotel and its facilities.
  • Establishes relations with local and international press.
  • Understands the market and its competitors both locally and internationally.
