Job Description

LASALLE College of the Arts is the highest ranked specialist arts institution in Southeast Asia for Performing Arts, and joint top for Art & Design (QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025). The College offers 36 Diploma, BA (Hons) and MA programmes across the full spectrum of arts and design disciplines. Director (Advancement)
The Director of Advancement will lead and manage the Division of Advancement in fundraising including strategic planning, developing and expanding prospective donors, enhancing donor relations, initiating and leading targeted initiatives for fundraising, enhancing alumni relations, and contributing to the non-fee income of the College through venue hire and other income streams. This includes collaborating with staff, alumni and volunteers to identify funding priorities and craft compelling cases for support.
This is a key leadership role responsible for generating income to support the College's mission, programmes, scholarships and infrastructural needs. The Director reports to the Vice-President (Strategic Developments) and works in close partnership with the senior management team.
Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an established university, preferably with a postgraduate qualification.
  • At least 18 years of relevant experience in the education or creative industries, including at least 10 years in a senior role within an established institution or organisation.
  • A proven track record in fundraising, including identifying, soliciting, cultivating and stewarding major donors, corporations and foundations to secure philanthropic gifts, sponsorships and endowments.
  • Experience in leading fundraising initiatives, event management, gift administration as well as donor relations and recognition programmes.
  • Strong background in developing and enhancing alumni relations and management, and boosting non-fee income.
  • Demonstrated success in major gift fundraising, alumni engagement and revenue generation (or its equivalent).
  • Extensive networks within the arts, creative industries, government and corporate sectors, as well as philanthropic communities locally and internationally.
  • Strong ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to align funding opportunities with institutional and programmatic needs.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills, with the ability to prepare strategic and complex reports for management.
  • Proven leadership in managing professional teams and working collaboratively across all levels.
  • An appreciation and sensitivity to arts and culture, and the development of young people through education.
  • Ability to work effectively across cultures and with diverse stakeholders, including students, parents, government bodies, and community partners.
