About the Analytics Team:

The Analytics Team handles terabytes of data to help us understand our users and learn about content trends. They are responsible for collecting, processing and organizing large and complex datasets in order to generate actionable insights and help various teams at Viki make data-driven decisions.

Viki is seeking a Director of Analytics to manage this team of high performing Data Analysts and Data Scientists. The centralized Analytics team supports data driven decisions across departments in Product, Marketing, Content and Finance. You are expected to have hands-on involvement in analytical projects while playing a key role in overall data strategy, roadmap planning, team development, and stakeholder management. This role will be based in Singapore and report to the VP of Product.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Shape and lead strategy, roadmap, and long term vision for analytics at Viki.

Multiply the impact of data analytics across business and product, applying advanced data modeling and analysis techniques coupled with business acumen to guide decision making, uncover optimization opportunities and support product feature ideation/design/planning

Responsible for analytics-as-a-service to cross-functional departments within the company, overseeing the design and delivery of dashboards, reports, and insights to help stakeholders analyze business performance and areas of improvement

Manage a team of analysts and data scientists to support and measure the performance and the effectiveness of initiatives cross departments , and provide actionable insights and recommendations as to how activities should be optimized

Coach and manage a team of data analysts to be responsible for consistently and proactively producing interesting and unexpected insights to solving problems

Develop and implement quality controls and standards to ensure trust towards the data

Oversee data models and events taxonomy, being the gatekeeper for all product events that are sent into the data pipeline.

Initiate new and experimental efforts based on advanced analytics and latest available tools to find more avenues for data to drive growth at Viki

Requirements:

12+ years of working experience in the analytics space with BS in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related discipline

Expert knowledge of statistical modeling techniques to solve business problems

Outstanding quantitative and analytical skills, coupled with strong business acumen

Prior working experience in:

Minimum 4 years management experience in mentoring and growing analytics team

Working with Product Managers in feature development, metrics tracking, and experimentation

ETL and data pipelines: tracking, collecting, mapping, and storing data from multiple sources via cloud-based architecture

Delivering complex analytical projects involving cross-functional stakeholders

Familiarity with:

Data processing: Hadoop, MapReduce, Kafka

Data warehousing: Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake

Data visualization: Looker, Holistics, Tableau

Product analytics: Amplitude, CleverTap, Mixpanel

Cloud-based data warehouse and infrastructure: AWS, GCP

Enjoys hands-on and working in a relatively flat team structure

Strong interpersonal skills with open, transparent, and collaborative communication style

Preferred Qualification:

Experience working in a fast-paced and dynamic startup environment

Experience setting up data infrastructure and governance

Experience building and deploying Machine Learning models
