Job Description

The primary responsibility of this position is to lead a group of applications engineers in developing methodologies and practices to integrate EXFO products into customer solutions. The following responsibilities/duties are to be carried out under the VP of APAC. This list is not exhaustive in nature and additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Sales Focus

• Attend trade shows, conferences, and customer demonstrations focusing on technical product applications.
• Develop and deploy sales force technical training curriculums take into accounts competition and advocate to promote EXFO successful use cases.
• Guide the team in terms of collecting voice of customers. Willing to jump into technical tasks, when needed.
• Ensure the technical success of product lab and field evaluations.
• Responsible for technical aspects of customer proposals in close coordination with Sales Manager.
• Represent company in meeting with C-level exec to present company value proposition.

Product Focus

• Provide technical interface between Product Management and customers.
• Advise Product Management on product feature/road map to coordinate with upcoming customer requirements.
• Author/Co-Author application notes and white papers to increase product visibility and acceptance.

Customer Focus

• Prepare and present in technology seminars to educate customers and potential customers on EXFO\xe2\x80\x99s testing solutions.
• Prepare and present technology seminars to educate customers and potential customers on EXFOs testing solutions.
• Drive opportunities to help customer overcome their pain points with EXFO solutions.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Deep expertise in one or more of the following technical fields: Fiber Optics, SDH, OTN, DWDM, FTTH, 5G, Ethernet/IP. High Speed Transport (400G and beyond), Transceiver Market, Photonics (PIC), Coherent, Fiber Monitoring System
• Deep expertise and experience in telecommunications test and measurement.
• Deep expertise and experience working in different business segments that include but not limited to Access Broadband, Metro, Core and business, Enterprise and Data Center, Submarine, Fiber Construction and 5G/RAN Mobile; Manufacturing, Development and Research (MDR) for R&D and Production.

ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Telecommunications or equivalent experience.

Pertinent experience: 15 years of experience in a related field with exposure to Asia Pacific region. 5 years experience leading a group of technical professionals.

Language requirements: English written and spoken, Chinese and Malay added advantage.

Travelling : Willing and able to travel, 50% of the time.
