Role Responsibilities
Purpose The purpose of the role is to support and oversee implementation of Resilience requirements across CCIB business. The role-holder will act as key point of contact for reviewing and challenging business implementation plan and activities carried out to meet standards requirements. Working with the Business and Project stakeholders in Singapore, other Global / Regional / Country stakeholders to ensure continued effective delivery of the Resilience requirements in CCIB. Resilience enables the maintenance of capabilities to support the identification of vulnerabilities and the proactive preparation to ensure that response and our recovery arrangements remain fit for purpose. Resilience is responsible for Client Service Risk sub type and defines key standards for the Group to stay resilient. Risk Management

  • Responsible for supporting and challenging business guidance, tools and control assessments.
  • Responsible for timely completion of assessments and managing any overdue assessments through timely escalation.
  • Responsible for ensuring all material risks are assessed, reported and approved to Head Operational Resilience CCIB.
  • Accountable for the development of control enhancements to ensure any known risks are controlled within acceptable boundaries and consistent with Standards.
  • Responsible for sharing best practice and control standards to CCIB.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance of CSR Policies and Standards by CCIB Business.
Governance
  • Awareness and understanding of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) and Operational and Technology risk framework required to meet response management framework.
  • Responsible for ensuring adequate governance and oversight over CSR risk, through the escalation and appropriate resolution of relevant risk exposures in CCIB.
  • Responsible for escalation of issues, blockages, challenges and trends to Head, Operational Resilience CCIB.
Communication and Training in Resilience
  • Drive Resilience training and communications effort to ensure timely completion of planning and implementation workstream for Business.
  • Support Group Resilience Team to produce training materials.
  • Act as escalation point for business and / or Regional issues related to all Resilience queries.
  • Perform training of Resilience systems to stakeholders if necessary.
  • Validate the accuracy and consistency of KRIs, KCIs and other risk ratings / assessments, as well as process designs using available MI.
  • Support regulatory engagements and Governance requirements with Standards owners and Regional resilience managers.
Regulatory and Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce or relevant
  • 5 years relevant experience, within which proven experience in a 1LOD or 2LOD role within the Bank is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, across various levels in the organization including senior leadership teams, in influencing key decisions taken in the business and in support teams.
  • Must be a self-starter who is able to initiate and successfully drive programs and projects to completion with little management supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate with Business and Regional Stakeholders. Confident in communicating with senior Business members.
  • Subject matter expertise in emerging Operational Resilience Regulations and good understanding of Business Continuity, Crisis management and Operational continuity in resolution regulation.
  • In-depth understanding of Standard Chartered Group’s Businesses, footprint, and operating model.
  • Ability to engage and influence stakeholders across Businesses, Functions and Countries.
  • Experience with ‘agile’ ways of working.
  • Is energetic, determined, positive, goal focused and consistent.
