CMB today is a key business and profit driver for the HSBC Group tending to the financial needs of businesses across c.53 countries and territories.The job holder will support the Head of Large Corporate (LC) Singapore in delivering sustainable growth for the LC business \xe2\x80\x93 with a particular focus on priority growth sectors. These growth opportunities include Data Centres, Logistics, mature Technology and Manufacturing companies, and Infrastructure. There is also an opportunity to further grow outbound revenues from existing clients.Principal responsibilities

  • Develop clear plan for the priority diversified sectors that will contribute to future growth within Large Corporate Singapore.
  • Grow number of multi-jurisdictional relationships in Large Corporate Singapore, with a particular focus on ASEAN and the China opportunity.
  • Job holder will also have responsibility for driving operational efficiency and continually deploying resources towards the highest returning opportunities in the portfolio.
  • Work with the Head of LC to embed best-in-class portfolio management across the overall Large Corporate book \xe2\x80\x93 including FCC/Sanctions, Pricing & RWAs, Low Returning Clients (MDC) / Most Dilutive Clients (MDC), and Credit Risk Management
Impact on the Business
  • Formulate and drive business and product strategies to acquire new-to-bank business, deepen wallet share and retain existing clients.
  • Ensure healthy growth of client base and achieve the Group\xe2\x80\x99s strategy of growing revenues and returns through needs-based sales.
  • Ensure that the quality of the lending book meets group\xe2\x80\x99s standards, safeguard the Bank from potential loss, maintain group credit standards, uphold portfolio quality, maintain high level of compliance and minimize operational and credit banking risks
  • Needs based cross selling of Group services and achieve CMB\xe2\x80\x99s target for revenue from collaboration with Global Banking and Markets, Global Private Bank, WPB and Insurance
  • Deliver financial results; revenue and Balance Sheet growth
  • Set the tone and agenda on Global Standards and all elements of Risk and Compliance as applicable to the role
Customers / Stakeholders
  • Working closely with Marketing to devise and implement strategies to enhance brand awareness and equity in the country
  • Actively engaging in external events, activities and forums that provide opportunity to build HSBC\xe2\x80\x99s brand among the target customer group
  • Responsible for driving a client-centric culture within the organization through regular client engagement and dealing with complaints and issues as required
  • Develop a strong understanding of client needs by focusing on client experience and investing in Group-aligned marketing initiatives that create strong brand awareness to deliver targeted client propositions built around core products and channels
  • Understand current economic trends and their impact on HSBC in Singapore; identify key levers to capitalise on opportunities and/or minimise downside exposure
Leadership & Teamwork
  • Live the Group Purpose and Values.
  • Contribute to the long-term strategic vision and international direction for Commercial Banking and identify the key steps necessary for country alignment and support in achievement of the regional and global strategy
  • Provide leadership to motivate the frontline & maximise their potential
  • Lead the team to acquire and grow appropriate relationships and satisfy transactional and funding needs of Large Corporate clients
  • Create a clear succession and development plan process through identifying and developing talent
  • Enhance the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s image in the marketplace and build key relationships with third parties such as investment development boards and advisors etc.
RequirementsRequirementsSkills & Experience
  • Senior banker with experience in supporting large local corporate clients in Singapore and C-suite coverage experience. Candidate may have experience in the Singapore Corporate Banking sector or may bring relevant experience from other developed markets.
  • Significant experience across full range of lending, commercial banking products, global markets and capital financing opportunities as well as driving multi-jurisdictional growth
  • Outstanding people leader, with experience in managing teams and ability to coach / develop future talent and successors within the Large Corporate Banking unit
  • First rate risk management expertise, with ability to drive safe & sustainable growth, ensure customers are treated fairly, and emerging risks are effectively addressed
  • Strategic thinker, with ability to both design and execute significant change/transformation initiatives, required to evolve the Large Corporate Banking model. Fresh perspective and drive to experiment with emerging opportunities
  • Successful track record of managing material P&L and Balance Sheet responsibilities
