The Role Responsibilities Strategy * Drive the Sanctions strategy through the implementation of both tactical and strategic projects including system enhancements and key process initiatives * Proactively assist Head of Sanctions Compliance The Role Responsibilities Strategy Drive the Sanctions strategy through the implementation of both tactical and strategic projects including system enhancements and key process initiatives Proactively assist Head of Sanctions Compliance, Sanctions Compliance Programme Managers, Regional Head of Sanctions, Regional Head of FCC and Group FCC to ensure implementation of appropriate projects and initiatives Working closely with the FCC Controls Projects teams to ensure alignment between key Sanctions systems and processes (Sanctions Case Management System, eOPs, ECM and Sanctions SharePoint) Develop detail project plans on behalf of Group Sanctions to demonstrate milestones, timelines and benefits Work with the Sanctions & FCC Act Process Owner to develop a strategy to have an effective and sustainable Sanctions & FCC Act Process. Business Chair the Sanctions Change Control Board ensuring that Sanctions related projects and risks are managed correctly, given a relevant priority rating and escalated where required. Host/lead BAU working groups (Sanctions Risk Event WG) to ensure that Group Sanctions Projects and BAU activities are continuously being improved Drive improvement in the end to end efficiency of the AAA process by improving systems, DOIs and guidance notes for both Sanctions Act, FCC Act and the AA processes Attend key global Sanctions forums including Sanctions PgSC, Sanctions Programme Working Group, AMLOG and Sanctions Compliance Management Group to provide timely strategic updates on projects and initiatives Assist in providing governance and oversight over the implementation of FCC-related policies and procedures globally to ensure compliance with such policies and procedures Track programme issues and follow up with accountable personnel on timely resolution Processes Proactively ensure all Sanctions Compliance Programme and project governance is implemented and adhered to Ensure new processes that impact Sanctions & FCC Act are in line with the Sanctions & AML policy and the banks strategic strategy Support the Sanctions Act & FCC Act Process Owner with the management of the relevant ERMF requirements. Lead key Project work for the Group Sanctions Team including UVT and UAT testing with the relevant team including Regional Sanctions teams People and Talent Lead through example by implementing the Bank&rsquos project governance and framework in the team Ensure that the HRCU team members act collaboratively and openly with teams across the business and FCC. Upskill junior members of the Group Sanctions Programme team in line with their development needs Risk Management Be the Sanctions representative from a Sanctions Act Process Owner and a Sanctions Compliance Risk Owner perspective on the Transactions and Name Screening Change control board. Provide support pertaining to sanctions risk assessment across Group to regions/countries, as needed Provide support for internal and external audits, exam, tests Support Group Sanctions efforts derived from Global Sanctions Action Plan, partner with the relevant groups (Region, Business, Financial Crime Compliance, Global Shared Services Centre) to develop appropriate mitigation strategies Identify and mitigate relevant project risks within Group Sanctions Compliance Programme and other relevant Sanctions projects/ programme Provide feedback (to internal forums) on Group Sanctions Compliance Programme team projects and initiatives Governance Ensure relevant, timely and accurate Sanction project updates are provided to all applicable Sanctions governance and FCC forums Assist Head of Sanctions Compliance Programme in defining Sanctions Governance framework Timely closure of actions from the Global Sanctions Action plan Ensure Sanctions Compliance Programme Governance is implemented and adhered to As needed, collaborate with Regional Sanctions teams, FCC Controls with respect to Sanctions governance operations, training, risk assessment and oversight Regulatory & Business Conduct Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group&rsquos Values and Code of Conduct. Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct. Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters. FCC, AML Policy & Standards Team Regional FCC Other Responsibilities Proactively provide support to Group Sanctions & AML compliance with regard to maintaining Group procedures, implementation across the Group, and extend support to businesses and countries, and all other responsibilities as required Support the Regional Sanctions Teams, as appropriate Our Ideal Candidate 10+ years of experience in financial crime compliance function within a financial institution Preferably experience in sanctions compliance Excellent interpersonal skills Ability to work in a matrix organisation, leveraging resources across the organisation to complete deliverables Experience of proactively engaging stakeholders across multiple countries/businesses/functions.
