The role will lead and manage the Asia Pacific (AP) and Central Europe Middle East and Africa (CEMEA) payroll operations, by ensuring the execution of day-to-day payroll work and strategic projects of the department, drive process efficiencies and assist in integration projects, related to the company acquisitions and global initiatives.

We are looking for a candidate that has strong skillsets in leadership, stakeholder and people management. Successful leadership ensure the fully execute the tasks promptly with no errors. The role will involve leading and managing the payroll teams across 3 locations (Singapore, Philippines and India) and have frequent and regular interactions with cross-functional departments and senior management, throughout the company.

This role dynamics is as listed below:-

  • Lead and enable the payroll teams to execute their payroll deliverables below:-
  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll delivery and legislative compliance to local labour laws and statutory requirements
  • Ensure that systems and processes correctly compute and record time, earnings, employee benefits, special deductions, mandated benefits, taxes, garnishments, and other items that affect net pay and/or company liability
  • Ensure queries are attended and clarified from the HR mailbox and closing HR tickets within stipulated timeline
  • Ensure all payroll related data are handled in accordance to the company\xe2\x80\x99s guideline for confidential data handing process
  • Confirm general ledger accuracy and mapping for all pay elements
  • Apply strategic thinking to eliminate manual processes and reduce overall processing time
  • Produce analytics to improve overall efficiency
  • Process end to end payroll processes for each payroll you support which includes HR interfaces, equity and mobility updates, overtime and retro payments, batch verifications, gross-to-net checks, check printing, bank interfaces and 3rd party benefit updates
  • Full system testing for version upgrades and legislative updates
  • Develops, maintains, updates, and communicates organization-wide payroll policies and processes regarding earnings, deductions, time keeping as well as government compliance reporting
  • Represent the Payroll operations to ensure processing needs are fulfilled, compliances are met and aligned to the Organizational priorities
  • Partner with the Global People Operations teams & other internal customers to ensure effective processes and issue resolution
  • Handle internal and external Payroll audits
  • Partake in acquisitions by working with various People functions and Business leads to facilitate change/integration
  • Participate in payroll projects or change requests to improve the current processes and communication and payroll process flow
  • Engage and communicate with stakeholders and vendors
  • Proactive stakeholders\xe2\x80\x99 engagement in new process / policy setup, issue management and/or any other process improvements involving payroll activities
  • Regular payroll vendor discussion on service level and expectations, keeping the vendors accountable for their service delivery
  • Grow and develop our talent pool to ensure we have the necessary capabilities to achieve our strategic goals
  • Keeping the team engaged on the payroll goals and objectives
  • Giving timely recognition for job well done and achievements made
  • Holding the team members accountable for the payroll deliverables for the countries they are handling
  • Provide opportunities for upskilling and cross-training within the wider team
Qualifications
  • Diploma or Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources or relevant field, with equivalent experience of 15 or more years of payroll operations managing, across AP and CEMEA. Proven track record with Large MNCs, with the ability to navigate matrixed organization structures will be preferred.
  • Minimum 10 year of people management experiences, handling large team sizes of more than 20. Remote people management experience will be preferred.
  • Has above average and updated knowledge in local labor laws and statutory surrounding AP and CEMEA payrolls. Key countries include Singapore, Philippines, India, UAE, South Africa, Ukraine, Russia, etc.
  • Experience in designing, implementing and reviewing internal controls, aimed at reducing operational risk.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across all corporate levels and externally with vendors.
  • Client service focused and able to develop strategic working relationships with internal partners and vendors to deliver high quality service, within the payroll function. Proven track record of strong stakeholders\xe2\x80\x99 management, including cross regional or remote relationships.
  • Experience with Payroll/Time Reporting/HR/Absence Management (preferably ADP and/or Workday systems)
