Johnson & Johnson is currently recruiting for a Director, Product Value Stream, Project and Portfolio Management for Asia Pacific Essential Health business. This position will be located in Singapore. The Director, Portfolio & Product Value Stream Management for AP Essential Health is responsible for deploying operating model & governance in line with regional operating plans. The Portfolio leader is accountable to the E2E Supply Chain Leader for franchise portfolio & program management performance results and works in close partnership with the Project Management Organization, Commercial partners, R&D and Supply Chain teams to achieve these results. Governs an Integrated NPD and LCM project portfolio prioritization and drives End to End (E2E) governance within defined operating model with commercial & supply chain partners.

The Product Value Stream & Portfolio Management leader works to simplify and improve how the franchise operationalizes strategy, bringing portfolio and program management to life to achieve the business plan & strategic plan growth goals. Responsible for enabling product life cycle strategies that are customer centric, compliant to regulatory/safety requirements and optimize supply chain performance.

This leader works to simplify/improve governance & operating model. Responsible for delivering long term end-to-end supply chain strategy and coordinating the execution of specific supply chain growth initiatives (such as Project Harmony), as well as supporting the end to end supply chain including regional customer service improvement, regional strategic sourcing activities, capital and capacity planning, regional innovation pipeline sufficiency, regional franchise cost improvement objectives, portfolio simplification efforts and ensuring connection with markets for product fit and development.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities of the Director, Product Value Stream and Portfolio Management for AP Essential Health include:

  • Deployment of integrated management/governance of Portfolio Prioritization of Innovation and Life Cycle Management (LCM) projects for AP Essential Health business. Responsible for LCM Project Portfolio data integrity in the portfolio management system in collaboration with the project management teams and franchise/region function leads; ensure data standards are achieved. Portfolio decision leadership that best supports & balances multiple brands, regional business & cross-functional needs. Communicate Portfolio Performance and Project Execution Metrics across key stakeholders.
  • Deployment of the following core capabilities for AP Essential Health Supply Chain to support activity from Ideation to Execution: Idea Assessment & Business Case Development and Validation; Portfolio & Project Governance/Portfolio Entry; Portfolio Tradeoffs; Strategy Linkage & Resource Optimization; SC capacity and resource management, and Portfolio / Program / Project Analytics. Collaborates with other regional portfolio partners to supply a "sustain" portfolio model for AP region.
  • Partners with AP Franchise team in facilitating the deployment of operating plans and connectivity of E2E activities to markets, Supply Chain and Global Integration Management Office in coordination with Finance. Provides support to critical region level initiatives/priorities, including but not limited to core strategies as part of GP improvement, Supply Chain Risk Management or Business Continuity Planning. Responsible for regional product siting and network strategy input to global network.
  • Owner of the Portfolio Project Management (PPM) system. Engages in deployment of global product strategy roadmap initiatives. Drives evaluation of supply chain risk within the need state, partnering with the E2E SC Excellence team. Aligns the regional supply and demand capital requirements with the markets and SC functions for regional product siting initiatives.
  • Visualizes the future state of the Essential SC using multiple data sources, and leads problem-solving efforts to develop approaches and conclusions. Makes prioritization recommendations by critically evaluating data from various sources against the longer-term supply chain business strategy. Supports scenario planning efforts and communicates guiding parameters to address problems and obstacles in attaining organizational goals.
  • Delivers strong portfolio leadership and capabilities to ensure resources and communication drive the most critical and complex initiatives. Delivers an integrated portfolio that achieves the operating plans and delivers defined regional targets. Leads the portfolio resource allocation assessment process for product life cycle management projects.
  • Monitors the execution of cost improvement efforts with understanding of E2E supply chain and commercial implications to include Gross Profit driven by Agility, COGS and Capital Expense management.
  • Serve as a functionally agnostic liaison to the business and the cross-functional SC leadership team to co-create an aligned regional product portfolio strategy to execute at all levels of the organization. Shape how franchise and regional teams work together with the markets to deliver against the operating model success criteria. Provides structure, direction, decision making and issue resolution to the team in situations of potentially high risk, uncertainty and ambiguity at all levels within a diverse organization and with external partners.
  • Accountable for the regional VSM processes -touching LCM Portfolio Management, Issue Management, Product Stakeholder Management, Product Portfolio Optimization. Engages with enterprise community of practice leaders and forums and work across regions to partner in the development of Global infrastructure and process. Executes the strategy for key commercialization and new product development efforts by collaborating with key stakeholders and franchise business leaders. Supports the manufacturing supply chain product strategy to include regional capacity analysis and utilizing data for strategic decision- making by franchise.
  • Serve as a functionally agnostic liaison to the business and the cross-functional leadership teams in shaping execution plan of External & Internal compliance programs across markets or franchise teams in collaboration with markets, technical and supply chain functions. Provides structure, direction, decision making and issue resolution to the project team in situations of potentially high risk, uncertainty and ambiguity in ensuring delivery of compliance projects.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required. MBA or MS is preferred. A degree in engineering, supply chain, or relevant field is a plus.
  • A minimum of 15 years of diverse experience across different areas of the Supply Chain is required, including direct experience with Project and Portfolio Mgmt. Previous experience in strategic roles required.
  • PMP certification and /or other industry and project management certification a plus.
  • Experience in a Consumer, packaged goods or FDA-regulated industry is preferred.
  • A minimum of 8 years of demonstrated direct people manager experience required.
  • Proven success with portfolio management at a franchise / business unit level highly preferred with demonstrated success in the management of large, global, complex, highly interrelated programs / projects.
  • Strong business and financial acumen with demonstrated analytical skills including understanding of financial principles and how to leverage this knowledge to make sound business decisions and/or recommendations to achieve business goals in a complex environment with multiple layers of stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to identify appropriate methods to collect and analyze a diverse set of data and understand supply chain issues to develop appropriate solutions based on the findings.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing ambiguity and white space required. Strong technical knowledge with demonstrated ability to think strategically and deliver results is necessary.
  • Demonstrated understanding/ability to consolidate, optimize and prioritize a portfolio of programs under constraints in a dynamic manner, specifically allocating and re-allocating resources (budgets, FTEs) across programs is required.
  • Thorough knowledge of the consumer healthcare industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to act as a change agent and adapt to changing business and organizational dynamics is required. Strong partner and influencer to support broader E2E goals.
  • An entrepreneurial self-starter with strong oral and written communication and change management skills experienced with collaborating, networking and influencing in a matrix organization is required
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of management and lead discussions without line authority to create alignment of senior cross-functional stakeholders.
  • This position is may require up to 25% travel based on business needs.
