Job Description

Scope:

The Head of Professional Affairs will lead the Professional Affairs function across CooperVision APAC. With key responsibility to develop and execute the overall CooperVision professional affairs strategy and establish Cooper Vision as a thought leader in the Vision Care category.

More specifically key objectives of Head of Professional Affairs APAC role are to:

  • Develop and execute the scientific and professional engagement strategy for the Total Cooper Vision portfolio of Contact lenses from professional and medical perspective
  • Re-invent the value of Professional Engagement in the APAC region enabling the unlocking of untapped potential and opportunities for CooperVision in the vision care space
  • Shape the industry environment and raise the primary eye care standards across APAC
  • Develop advocacy programs with global and local KOLs, Governments, Professional Associations, Optometry Academies and Eye Care Professionals
  • Identify, develop, and maintain KOLs, influencers, CooperVision advocates to assist in delivering key messages and education, raising the presence and share of voice of Cooper Vision in the professional community
  • Develop analytical models to measure and predict efficiencies, and effectiveness of educational, advocacy and sponsorship programs
  • Lead, Develop and Execute Professional Education & Development strategies in line with business objectives of each market in Asia-Pacific
  • Lead the Regional APAC Team and elevate the voice of the Professional Affairs team within the organization. Develop new ways of working within function and cross-organization
  • Elevate the functional capabilities across APAC and ensure strong bench strength and professional capabilities in support of Cooper Vision business ambition
  • Ensure the success of new product launches by supporting local markets in new product development programs, processes, clinical claims and ECP adoption program.
The Head of Professional Affairs APAC will work closely with numerous stakeholders across the organization inclusive of Global Professional Affairs and R&D Teams, Regional Marketing Team, Local Market Professional Affairs Teams, Customer Marketing Team, and Regulatory& Clinical Team.

Key Responsibilties:

Internally
  • Lead the professional affairs strategy and execution across APAC
  • Set new standards for professional affairs team engagement internally and externally to elevate the standing of Cooper Vision as a thought leader and innovator in the category
  • Represent APAC and shape global strategies and plans to support APAC needs and growth ambitions
  • Manage the AGILE process. Ensure technical/clinical information materials are factually correct and claims are fully substantiated for both internal and external communications.
  • Provide support to local, regional, and global regulatory functions to maintain highest levels of compliance and end-consumer experience
  • Monitor and report on competitive industry activities, regulatory landscape, and clinical science
Externally
  • Translate scientific, clinical, and technical evidence and insights into customer-facing assets - expert consensus, speaker decks, training modules and conduct train the trainer of these assets
  • Plan and execute ECP education programs for FRP and 1 Day portfolio, through peer-to-peer influencing and direct training programs
  • Develop strategic partnerships and advocacy programs with Industry Associations, Academic Institutions, business owners, key customer accounts and key opinion leaders
  • Ensure strong representation in major regional conferences partnering with KOLs, Marketing, Clinical Affairs, R&D and local teams to build leadership for CooperVision
  • Champion innovative approaches in engaging and building trust with ECPs across the region (e.g. ECP communities/ industry hubs)
  • Develop ECP targeted education and communication assets
  • Present with personal impact at conferences, education events, commercial meetings on clinical and practice building topics
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • CL experienced Optometrist or Ophthalmologist
  • Clinic or Retail Experience Preferred
  • Advanced clinical/technical knowledge in vision care
  • Passion and experience in partnering with various types of ECPs
  • Strategic Thinking

  • Strong personal presence and effective training skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong ethics and objectivity

Work Environment:
  • Office/ home-based, with travel across APAC/ Global (10-15% of time)
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 10 (preferred 15+ years') in eye care industry experience in Professional Affairs/ Professional Education
  • Clinical/ Retail Experience Preferred
  • Optometry/ Ophthalmology Degree
  • Presentation skills to large audiences
  • APAC Based (Singapore Preferred)
  • Regional Experience Preferred
