The Role Responsibilities

This role will provide leadership towards the Reputational and Sustainability Risk (RSR) agenda and in particular provide key support on identification and assessment of RSR risks across Clients, Transactions, and Strategic Coverage decisions.

Responsibilities

The Director, Reputational and Sustainability Risk, ERM will:

  • Providing and/or coordinating training to key stakeholders across the regions.
  • Contributing to the development of reputational and sustainability risk themes and watch factors based on client review committee escalations, transaction reviews and review of external stakeholder concerns.
  • Assisting Case Management Team Lead on ad-hoc initiatives as required
  • Providing support to other Case Officers on case escalations and committee papers as needed
  • Proactively identify areas of risk to be assessed in client relationships and within sensitive sectors.
  • Represent RSR as a quorum and voting member of Client Review Committees \xe2\x80\x93 provide RSR subject matter expertise and challenge
  • Identify and evaluate ESG trends and policy developments that may impact on risk assessments
Perform reputational risk assessments on transactions and clients and follow-through on these until closure as necessary. This involves:
  • Robust assessment of reputational and sustainability risk controls
  • Oversight and challenge on first line activity
  • Identifying mitigations to gain comfort on risks
  • Preparing and reviewing committee papers
  • Summarizing key risks and trends as part of Case MI/Reporting

  • Embed the Group\xe2\x80\x99s values and code of conduct in Reputational and Sustainability Risk.
  • Ensure that material risk exposures and related issues are reported to the responsible risk governance committees.
Risk Management
  • Uphold the integrity of risk/return decisions, by challenging business to demonstrate that risk origination and control decisions are properly informed and consistent with the reputational and sustainability risk strategy and risk appetite. Act quickly and decisively when any risk and control weakness become apparent and ensure they are addressed within an appropriate timeframe and escalated through the relevant committees. Where required, act as the second-line for risk areas aligned to the Reputational and Sustainability Risk RTF and Policy. Review and challenge Standard generation and updates and review control environment for weakness.
Governance
  • Provide support across Reputational and Sustainability Risk, ensuring compliance with the highest standards of regulatory and business conduct and compliance practices as defined by internal and external requirements. Embed the Group\xe2\x80\x99s values and code of conduct in Reputational and Sustainability Risk. Ensure that material risk exposures and related issues are reported to the responsible risk governance committees.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • 8+ Years of experience working in financial services, preferably in reputational and sustainability risk management
  • Experience in assessing risk and making decisions on clients and transactions
  • Background in ESG or Sustainable Finance with a range of experience across different functions and/or fields
  • Experience in developing or implementing risk management frameworks
  • Strong Background in audit / investigative work / risk governance / transaction monitoring
  • Experience in writing and reviewing formal papers for senior Committees
  • Experience working in a financial services institution
  • Knowledge of financial and non-financial risks and trends.
  • Strong creativity and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent inter-personal skills; comfortable in building relationships at senior levels and across teams
  • Confident self-motivated person with a high level of drive and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment whilst managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • This is a 12 Months fixed time contract role
  • Bachelor Degree in any discipline, preferably in Finance, Business, Commerce/ ESG-related
Role Specific Technical Competencies
  • Experience in reputational and sustainability risk management;
  • Experience in assessing risk and making decisions on clients and transactions
  • Background in ESG or Sustainable Finance with a range of experience across different functions and/or fields
