The Role Responsibilities

  • Transformational Change (TC) initiatives deliver the most critical outcomes to enable the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s future success. They are often time sensitive and involve complex structures and multiple dependencies to deliver a common outcome. TC initiatives can be stand alone or a collection of initiatives. Some TC initiatives are designated \xe2\x80\x98Platinum\xe2\x80\x99 which means they require regular oversight by the Group Management Team and the plc Board.
  • Independently assessing the health of our most important investments helps to increase both likelihood of delivery and confidence in the reported progress of such initiatives to Senior Management.
  • The ECM TC assurance team performs reviews on TC initiatives to determine whether policies, standards and key controls are adequately met. End-to-end reviews are performed to assess the use of adaptive planning and continuous improvement principles throughout the change delivery lifecycle from Ideation through to Embed.
  • Characteristics of successful candidates for the role include a solid understanding of portfolio management, agile principles, evidence of applying these in practice and being able to form an objective and firm view on how they have been embedded within the TC initiatives by Businesses and Functions.
Strategy
  • Implement and drive the Transformation Change Assurance Framework, simultaneously enhance the current framework to support evolving processes and procedures and adherence to the bank-wide Standards and Policies.
Business
  • Help potential TC initiative leads understand what is required by the SIRF to request TC funding.
  • Independently review SIRF submissions, accepting or rejecting them with unambiguous feedback.
  • Fulfil the role of trusted advisor to Businesses / Functions regarding implementing the Change Governance Policy and change delivery standards.
  • Represent the ECM function in meetings with internal and external parties (Group Internal Audit, regulators, auditors etc) relating to governance, agile transformation and nWOW Standards.
Processes
  • Perform timely independent and objective assurance across the TC investment portfolio, reviewing key data attributes, backlogs and key artefacts developed by the teams.
  • Develop a written report to articulate the health of a TC initiative, capturing findings and recommendations which help to reduce risk of delivery.
  • Track all agreed recommendations to completion, ensuring they are appropriately resolved in a timely manner, escalating where not the case.
  • Maintain central documentation to enable active participation in continuous improvement of the TC assurance framework and the wider Change Management governance.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of applications to facilitate compliance including Planview, Clarity, Jira and Tableau.
  • Drive excellence in change delivery governance as a subject matter expert, encouraging consistent application and compliance.
  • Proactively identify trends and systemic issues through the analysis of assurance findings over time.
  • Actively seek and share findings with 2LOD and 3LOD to minimise detrimental impact that assurance might have on practitioners.
  • Perform ad-hoc reviews of on-going delivery, as required.

  • Engage with Senior Management to understand the objectives, priorities and outcomes of the relevant Businesses and Functions.
  • Influence Senior Managers to accept findings and adopt recommendations.
  • Collaborate with teams within the Group Transformation Office and the wider Transformation Offices to share lessons learnt and to improve effectiveness of agile delivery.
  • Engage with a wide variety of stakeholders and senior management, including:
    • Plc Board
    • Group Management Team
    • CIOs, COOs, CFOs
    • SIRF Members
    • Group Transformation Office
    • Group Internal Audit
    • FP&A
    • Group Operational Risk
    • Programme accountable executives, programme managers, product owners, test managers, testing staff, delivery team members
Our Ideal Candidate
  • 10+ years of experience in Quality audits in the Change assurance space within the Banking Operations
  • Expertise in Transformation and Agile delivery is a mandate, supported by relevant accreditation/training in agile methodologies/frameworks like SAFe is preferred
  • Experience handling large transformation programmes, agile delivery and agile at scale
  • Experience developing or implementing assurance frameworks
  • Experience working in a central PMO assurance function
  • Detailed knowledge and experience in both agile & classic project delivery and governance
