Job Description

Role

Lead the documentation team to deliver high-quality, developer-focused content, including technical overviews, API references, tutorials, and product guides. Define and execute the overall documentation strategy to ensure consistency, clarity, and accessibility across all technical content. Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and solutions architecture teams to deeply understand product features and translate complex technical concepts into clear, user-friendly content. Drive continuous improvement of documentation workflows, tooling, and information architecture to ensure scalability and efficiency. Establish and maintain documentation standards, style guides, and templates that align with brand voice and technical accuracy. Provide mentorship, editing, and feedback to writers, ensuring adherence to best practices in technical communication. Partner with UX, developer advocacy, and marketing teams to ensure a consistent and seamless developer experience across all touchpoints. Utilize analytics and user feedback to measure documentation performance and drive data-informed improvements. Oversee localization and accessibility initiatives to make documentation globally inclusive. Manage priorities and resources in a fast-paced environment, ensuring timely delivery of critical documentation for product releases.

Sound Like You?

Master's or Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, Computer Science, English, or a related field. 10+ years of experience in technical writing, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role. Proven experience creating and maintaining developer documentation for APIs, SDKs, or open-source projects. Strong understanding of software development concepts, and proficiency in reading or writing code (Python, Java, or similar). Familiarity with documentation tooling and publishing platforms (Markdown, Sphinx, Docusaurus, ReadTheDocs, etc.). Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and delivering results under tight deadlines. A passion for developer experience, content strategy, and process optimization
