At a Glance

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Drafter 2 to join the Starline Team in Tuas, Singapore.

The Drafter II is responsible for creating mechanical and electrical drawings of low and medium complexity using 3D CAD system and associated BOM via ERP system. Drawing work supports Application Engineering, Marketing and Sales. Works closely with Application Engineering Team members to provide customized solutions and products to high profile customers.

What Will You Do?

\xc2\xb7 Create dimensioned drawings and 3D models based on input from engineers and customer.

\xc2\xb7 Perform low and medium complexity design work on components as directed including 3D library components and assemblies.

\xc2\xb7 Create parts lists for new products.

\xc2\xb7 Create catalog pages, illustrations and animations; support work within ERP system.

\xc2\xb7 Perform a variety of tasks related to new design and project work, included but not limited to Purchasing support, Quality, Production assistance on new designs and customer communication.

\xc2\xb7 Organize the creation of demonstration units; work with Production to build prototypes of new designs.

\xc2\xb7 Assist production personnel related to product assembly, testing, and methods.

\xc2\xb7 Engineering drafting support to develop custom solutions for customers, conceptual drawings, and other project work.

\xc2\xb7 Provides 2D overlay assembly system drawings for contractors, and end users.

\xc2\xb7 Maintains public cad and BIM library.

\xc2\xb7 Ability to work Independently with minimal supervision

\xc2\xb7 Will require interaction with existing or potential customers.

\xc2\xb7 Assist with drawing and other support collateral for listing projects with VDE, UL, CSA, Intertek (ETL), etc.

\xc2\xb7 Participate in customer meetings, presentations, site visits and sales events

\xc2\xb7 Ability to travel domestically and internationally up 10% of time.

Qualifications

Education:

\xc2\xb7 Two-year technical degree, Associates in Mechanical or Electrical Drafting preferred or equivalent experience

\xc2\xb7 A minimum of 2 years of drafting experience.

\xc2\xb7 Working knowledge of AutoCAD Inventor or similar CAD system.

\xc2\xb7 Previous experience with UEC products is preferred.

\xc2\xb7 Autodesk certification preferred.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

\xc2\xb7 Aptitude for electro-mechanical products and applications.

\xc2\xb7 Ability to create 2D/3D models and assemblies in a CAD environment, Autodesk mechanical preferred.

\xc2\xb7 Mechanical aptitude: ability to work with those who build, assemble and other Production functions.

\xc2\xb7 General electrical knowledge is a plus including the ability to perform low and medium complexity wiring diagrams.

\xc2\xb7 Revit/BIM modeling experience preferred

Personal Qualities/Behaviors:

\xc2\xb7 The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where, under certain areas, the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection are required.

\xc2\xb7 Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time

\xc2\xb7 Able to lift and carry up to 25lbs
