Job Description

Driving and delivery:

Safely operate a lorry to transport goods to designated locations, ensuring timely and punctual delivery according to schedules.

Vehicle maintenance:

Perform routine checks on the vehicle, such as inspecting for mechanical issues, checking fluid levels, and maintaining cleanliness. Report any maintenance or repair needs promptly.

Loading and unloading:

Ensure goods are loaded and unloaded securely, that they are properly stowed, and that their condition is preserved during transport. This may involve using equipment like pallet jacks or forklifts.

Route planning:

Plan efficient routes to meet delivery schedules while adhering to all traffic laws, size, and weight restrictions.

Record keeping:

Complete and maintain accurate records, including delivery receipts, trip reports, and logs of driving hours and fuel consumption.

Safety and compliance:

Comply with all company policies and local, regional, and national transportation regulations. This includes following safety protocols for securing cargo and handling hazardous materials. *

Communication:

Maintain professional communication with clients, warehouse staff, dispatchers, and other personnel regarding delivery status or issues.
