The Home Team Science & Technology Agency (HTX) is the first of its kind Science and Technology Agency in the world that brings together science and engineering capabilities across the Home Team Departments to transform the homeland security landscape and keep Singapore safe. Within HTX there are various Centres of Expertise (CoE). Of which, the HTX Forensics CoE develops the capability and capacity of Forensics through research, development, and continuous innovation. This enables the team to provide scientific and technological forensic analyses and advice to deliver high quality, accurate, and prompt intelligence so that crimes can be solved effectively and efficiently. As a Drug Forensics Specialist, you will be placed on the HTX (Technical) Scheme and forward deployed from HTX Forensics CoE to the Forensics Response Team (FORT) in Central Narcotics Bureau. You will conduct forensic processing and management of crime scenes related to drug offences in accordance with legal and scientific requirements. Due to the nature of law enforcement work, you may be required to perform shift duties and be on stand-by 24/7. There will be periodic long working hours. You will also support operations and investigations, which includes attending court trials. Relevant training will be provided on crime scene processing and the use of appropriate techniques to recognize, document, collect and preserve forensic evidence, ensuring the evidence is adequate and in good condition to assist in the investigation and court proceedings. Apart from operational duties, you will also be involved in administrative duties and projects. Candidates should possess: \xe2\x80\xa2 A degree in any Physical Sciences (e.g. Biology, Chemistry, Physics etc.), Mathematics, Material Science/Engineering, or other relevant fields from a recognised University. \xe2\x80\xa2 Excellent written and verbal communication skills. \xe2\x80\xa2 Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills. \xe2\x80\xa2 Good time management skills. \xe2\x80\xa2 Willing to work on shift hours due to nature of drug forensics work. \xe2\x80\xa2 The ability to perform well under pressure and at odd hours. \xe2\x80\xa2 Willingness to learn and be a good team player with good interpersonal skills. \xe2\x80\xa2 Attention to details with neat and methodical work habits. \xe2\x80\xa2 A valid Class 3 driving license will be an advantage.
