Amber is a next-generation preschool in Katong blending inquiry-based, Reggio-inspired practice with a

mind, body and soul

approach. We are assembling our

founding team

of Assistant and Preschool Teachers (English and Chinese) to shape the spaces, routines and culture from day one.

What you'll do

Support/lead an

English-medium class

using inquiry-based, child-led practices. Plan and run learning invitations; nurture emergent literacy/phonics within a

mind, body and soul

approach. Create safe, calm spaces; differentiate for diverse needs; support gentle transitions at drop-off. Observe, document and assess learning; prepare concise updates/portfolios for families. Partner with parents (daily comms, conferences) and collaborate closely with the team. Safeguard every child's wellbeing; maintain

ECDA

ratios and centre SOPs. Contribute to pre-opening set-up and classroom environment build-out.

Additional expectations by level

Preschool Teacher (English/Chinese)

Lead curriculum planning & classroom routines; coach assistants. Coordinate assessments, documentation quality and parent conferences. Drive inclusion practices and behaviour guidance consistent with school values.

Assistant Preschool Teacher (English)

Co-facilitate lessons; prepare materials and learning corners. Support documentation, classroom care routines, and transitions. Provide targeted support to children under teacher's guidance.

What you'll bring

ECDA-recognised Early Childhood qualification:

Assistant:

L1(ACEY/HCIC or equivalent). Candidates completing L1 may be considered.

Teacher:

L2(Diploma in ECE/recognised equivalent). Strong spoken and written

English/Chinese

; warm presence and solid classroom management. Experience or interest in Reggio/inquiry and inclusive, strength-based practices. Current

Child First Aid

and ability to clear background/reference checks (or willingness to obtain).

Nice to have

Training in phonics/early literacy (e.g., Jolly Phonics or equivalent). Experience supporting neurodivergent learners in mainstream settings. A small portfolio of documentation (learning stories/provocations).
