Job Description

We are looking for ambitious, motivated individuals to join our Editorial team as an editor to acquire books and journals in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) topics. Prospective candidates must be able to work in Singapore.Responsibilities

• Acquire new book titles and journal articles.
• Manage and develop journals to improve both the quality and profitability of the journals concerned.
• Responsible for the full editorial process from manuscript to publication, including liaising with authors, reviewers, typesetters, printers, and designers, as well as preparing necessary paperwork and contracts.
• Ensure the commercial value of acquired titles by, e.g., analysing the time and cost of production, to maintain a steady and profitable revenue stream.
• Research and prepare statistics for market trends and prioritize the publication of manuscripts that best suit current market trends.
• Participate in marketing and promotion activities for new books.
• Any ad hoc projects as and when required and assigned.

Requirements

• Degree/Post-graduate Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Pure Mathematics/ Applied Mathematics/ Statistics, or Philosophy.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and analytical skills, and excellent interpersonal skills at all levels.
• Must have initiative, creativity, and a keen eye for detail.
• Must be able to execute all duties diligently to achieve professional success and also enhance the business of the organization.
• Prior experience in academic publishing will be given preference.
