Electrical Engineer

Job Summary:

Complete knowledge and full understanding of area of specialization, principles and practices within a professional discipline. Assesses unusual circumstances and uses sophisticated analytical and problem solving techniques to identify cause. Resolves and assesses a wide range of issues in creative ways and suggests variations in approach.

Responsibilities

Technical Support

\xc2\xb7 Responsible for technical niche repairs on mission- critical datacenter systems requiring sophisticated analytical problem solving techniques to identify cause.

Reporting

\xc2\xb7 Reviews specialized contractual reports and activities.

Site Maintenance

\xc2\xb7 Supervises the site maintenance and up keep of IBX infrastructures according to Equinix global standards.

Assess Alignment to Policy

\xc2\xb7 Ensures all repairs performed on all IBX infrastructure are according to the manufacturer\xe2\x80\x99s guidelines and standard methodologies

Complexity & Problem Solving

\xc2\xb7 Aids in root cause analysis and in repair of specialized failed critical components.
\xc2\xb7 Devises solutions based on limited information and precedent and adapts existing approaches to resolve issues.
\xc2\xb7 Uses evaluation, judgment, and interpretation to select right course of action. Work is done independently and is reviewed at critical points.

Teamwork & Interaction

\xc2\xb7 Liaises with design partners on design changes.
\xc2\xb7 Improves relationships and networks with senior internal/external partners who are not familiar with the subject matter often requiring persuasion.
\xc2\xb7 Adapts style to differing audiences and often advises others on difficult matters.

Design

\xc2\xb7 Validates design criteria for new principal power installations (e.g. single power source)

Typical Degree & Years of Experience

Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Electrical Engineering; or 3 years and a Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Electrical Engineering
