Turner and Townsend are seeking an Electrical Field Engineer to be in the field based in Taiwan. The position requires bilingual proficiency in English and Chinese. In the position, you will use your engineering expertise to provide technical construction support, oversee the construction, testing and troubleshooting of mechanical systems in the field, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with project specifications for the high voltage substation project. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of engineering principles, and engineering standards.
Job description:

• Field Support: Provide technical guidance, troubleshooting, and support for electrical systems at project sites.
• Project Execution: Assist in the practical implementation of electrical designs and specifications, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
• Compliance: Ensure that electrical systems and installations comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.
• Documentation: Contribute to project documentation, including reports, drawings, and specifications.
• Collaboration: Work effectively with project teams, operations staff, and subcontractors to ensure project success.
• Site Assessment: Conduct site visits to assess project feasibility, identify potential issues, and develop solutions.
• Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues during project execution, ensuring operational reliability and safety.
• Quality Assurance: Participate in quality control and assurance activities to ensure that electrical systems meet project requirements and industry standards.
• Risk Management: Assist in identifying and mitigating potential risks related to electrical systems and installations.
• Training and Mentoring: Provide technical guidance and training to project teams and operations staff, as needed.

Qualifications

• Candidate must be bi-lingual in English and Mandarin.
• Be based in Taiwan.
• Be in the field directly at the project site.
• Bachelors or Masters Degree qualifications in in Electrical Engineering or similar. Built up working experience can be considered.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience with high voltage substation projects.
• Experience and knowledge of all of the main HSE project management concepts, tools and techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced and high-pressure environment, to meet often tight deadlines, and to work pro-actively as part of a committed team.
• Strong leadership, communication & interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of relevant local and international codes, standards, and regulations.
• Computer/IT knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project tool, Conference call and Internet skills.
