Job Description

An Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer in a process plant is responsible for designing, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical and instrumentation systems. Key responsibilities include:





Key Responsibilities


Designing and implementing electrical and instrumentation systems: Developing designs for new systems or modifications to existing systems. Maintaining and troubleshooting electrical and instrumentation systems: Identifying and resolving issues with electrical and instrumentation systems. Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards: Implementing and enforcing safety protocols to protect personnel and equipment. Collaborating with other departments: Working with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure smooth plant operations. Developing and implementing maintenance plans: Creating and executing maintenance plans to ensure system reliability and efficiency. Analyzing and optimizing system performance: Reviewing system performance data to identify areas for improvement.


Skills and Qualifications


Strong technical knowledge: Understanding of electrical and instrumentation systems, including design, operation, and maintenance. Problem-solving and analytical skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues. Communication and interpersonal skills: Effective communication with teams, stakeholders, and management. Safety awareness and compliance: Knowledge of safety regulations and protocols, with a strong commitment to safety. Familiarity with industry standards and codes: Knowledge of relevant industry standards and codes, such as IEC, IEEE, and NFPA.
