Job Description

A. Job SummaryThe Energy Audit Engineer conducts complex energy consumption and demand analysis. Research and interpret applicable energy and environmental regulations to ensure compliance.B. Duties and Responsibilities1. Calculates potential energy savings.2. Identifies any health or safety issues related to planned projects.3. Collects and analyzes field date related to energy usage.4. Performs comparison analysis for existing energy consumption levels to normative data5. Identifies and prioritizes energy saving measures.6. Quantifies energy consumption to establish baseline for energy use or need.7. Recommends energy efficient technologies or alternative energy sources.8. Performs tests to locate leaks.9. Measures energy usage with available device.10. Inspects or evaluates building envelopes, mechanical systems, electrical systems or process systems to determine the energy consumption of each system11. Prepares audit reports containing energy analysis results or recommendations for energy cost savings.12. Analyzes energy bills including utility rates to gather historical energy usage data13. Analyzes technical feasibility of energy saving measures using knowledge of engineering, energy production, energy use, construction, maintenance, system operation or process systems14. Determines patterns of building use to show annual or monthly needs for heating, cooling, lighting or other energy needs15. Educates customers on energy efficiency or answer questions on topics such as the cost of running household appliance or the selection of energy efficient appliances16. Identifies opportunities to improve the operation, maintenance or energy efficiency of building or process systems17. Oversees installation of equipment to improve energy efficiency18. Prepares job specification sheets for home energy improvements such as attic insulation or heating system upgrades19. Examines commercial sites to determine the feasibility of installing equipment that allows building management systems to reduce electricity consumption during peak demand periods20. Inspects newly installed energy-efficient equipment to ensure that it was installed properly and is performing according to specifications21. Performs other duties that may be assigned from time to time in relation to the job summary as defined in Section A.C. QualificationsEducation Required:Graduate of Mechanical EngineerExperience Required:At least 4-5 years work experience in the above functions in a similar industry.License/Certificate Required:Licensed EngineerOther Skills Required:Advance knowledge of cooling load software (HAP, Elite or equivalent), Autocad, Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Record management
D. Training/Skills Requirement
1. Knowledge of materials, methods and tools involved in the construction or repair of houses, buildings or other structures such as highways and roads2. Knowledge of machine and tools including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance3. Excellent in communication skills, both written and oral.4. Computer literate.5. Good interpersonal skills.6. Problem-solving tools.Job Types: Full-time, PermanentSchedule:

  • 8 hour shift
Supplemental Pay:
