Surrounded by extraordinary people, inspiring leaders, and world changing projects, you will do more and become more than you ever thought possible.Position Summary:As Engineer 2, Product Lifecycle, you will be supporting process development, improvement and sustaining efforts in a high-volume biotech production environment, with focus on disposable products. You will work with Development team, Quality, Manufacturing, Contract Manufacturers, and other engineering groups to develop processes for new products and sustain and improve processes for existing products.Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage Illumina consumable product portfolio, with focus on contract manufacturerxe2x80x99s operation at worldwide locations.
  • Process owner for CMOS Image Sensor wafer manufacturing processes at Contract Manufacturers for consumable products, including but not limited to wafer back-end assemblies and cartridge assemblies.
  • To lead and resolve yield, quality and reliability issues related to product portfolio with internal stakeholders and contract manufacturer.
  • Define product and process specifications, process controls, QC test plans, and key performance indicators for high volume disposable products.
  • Drives continuous improvement and value engineering for COGS reduction. Support localization effort.
  • Drive capacity improvement and expansion plan to meet volume ramp. Including identification of high-volume manufacturing solution and qualification of new tools
  • In NPI, lead cross-functional teams to develop and qualify cost-efficient manufacturing solutions capable of delivering quality consumable products at high volume that meets customer expectations.
  • Develop strategy and drive tactical execution of technology, infrastructure and supplier selection through qualification, process characterization, qualification, risk mitigation and issue resolution.
  • Process-focused Critical Parameter Management (CPM) to establish robust design and manufacturing processes.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Microelectronics, Physics, Material Science or equivalent, or related field with 3-6 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Experiential Background:
  • Experienced in relevant process integration / product engineering front-end wafer fab environment is required.
  • Strong understanding on semiconductor device physics, electrical & electronics engineering fundamentals & wafer fabrication processes.
  • Experienced in managing Contract Manufacturing (CM) to resolve manufacturing & customerxe2x80x99s issues is a plus.
  • Possess good communication skills, interpersonal skills and documentation skills.
  • Good understanding of product reliability and statistics (DOE, T-Test, ANOVA, sample size calculation, SPC). Knowledge in JMP Statistical software is a plus.
  • Well verse in CAPA /problem solving technique with a high-level problem solving and reasoning skills required.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail required.
  • Demonstrated use and understanding of Product Data Management Systems, Change Control processes and New Product Introduction required, knowledge of SAP PLM and Teamcenter is a plus.
  • Work experience in the biotech/ medical device/ pharmaceutical industries and experience in FDA-regulated environment with cGMP knowledge is desirable.
  • Willingness to travel in support of supplier management and coordination is required.
  • Comfortable working in areas of high ambiguity and complexity in a fast-paced environment.
