:

The Extreme Loads and Structural Risk Division of ABS Consulting, in Singapore, is looking for an energetic and motivated engineer to work with the professional staff on a variety of complex and challenging projects.

What You Will Do:

• Perform engineering analysis.
• Prepare accurate and timely technical reports and calculation documents.
• With minimal or no supervision performs detailed engineering review of plans, as assigned, for compliance with applicable Rules, Regulations and contract commitments.
• Develop positive client relationships on project assignments.
• Interact with clients to identify and resolve problems in the area of technical expertise.
• Communicate the status of the current workload to all appropriate members of the team to ensure the needs of the clients will be met.
• Work as a team member within the group but may work autonomously most of the time.

What You Will Need:

Education and Experience

• Bachelor\'s degree in civil or Structural Engineering
• An interest in extreme loads e.g., wind, earthquake and blast loading.
• Knowledge of related technical disciplines required.
• Computer literacy and familiarity with structural modelling packages
• Ability to identify, analyze and propose solutions to problems (i.e., the competence to demonstrate complex problem-solving skills).
• Ability to multi-task.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to speak well in group and/or client facing environments. English language fluency to conduct detailed business and technical communication at a professional level.
• Ability to demonstrate understanding and to apply fundamental classification and quality concepts, practices and procedures.
• Interpersonal skills necessary to maintain positive working relationships with line managers and peers.

It Would Be Nice If You Had

• Master\'s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 3+ years\' experience.
• Blast analysis and design work experience.
• Willingness and desire to pursue certifications - CP (Blast) and licensure (PE)
• Proven track record of solving a variety of structural analysis problems including impact, drop, shock, airblast, fatigue, fracture, and multi-body dynamics.
• FEA work experience.
• Willingness to travel overseas for short periods, typically up to 1 week.

Reporting Relationships:

The incumbent reports to a lead engineer.
