Job Description

Reporting to Engineering Mechanical Manager, this position is responsible for leading the site mechanical contractor team in providing engineering services and ensuring that all mechanical maintenance activities are carried out efficiently and according to local regulations and HSE requirements at plant site.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and schedule maintenance works to ensure safe and stable plant operations
• Supervise and manage the site mechanical contractor team and ensure that daily, periodical and shutdown maintenance works are carried out safely, timely and efficiently
• Review and conduct technical investigation of mechanical equipment’s problems, evaluate findings, prepare analysis reports and recommend countermeasures to enhance equipment’s reliability
• Develop, review and implement Risk Assessment for all mechanical work activities
• Manage fixed assets and stocks movement, and follow up on purchase request and delivery
• Plan annual mechanical budget, and monitor and update monthly expenditure
• Identify and develop cost control strategies and cost savings programs
• Review and implement the mechanical maintenance SOP in compliance with the requirements of Safety Management System and Responsible Care System for the chemicals industry
• Update and maintain proper maintenance records and reports according to plant site’s requirements
• Participate in Engineering audits and ensure that mechanical activities comply with the required rules and regulations

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 3 years of relevant experience or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years of relevant experience in the Oil & Petrochemicals industry
• Prior working experience in a polymer plant will be an added advantage
• Entry level candidates without experience can be considered for Engineer, Mechanical position
• Self-motivated, independent and resourceful
• Effective team player with good communication and presentation skills
• Possess good analytical thinking and problem solving skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
• Able to work overtime if required
• Willing to rotate between 3 manufacturing plants within Jurong Island depending on work arrangement
