Engineer (smart System Solutions – Smart Machine)
Job Description
Working with a team of engineers to develop automated quay crane maximising the efficiency of sophisticated container-handling equipment and systems for the Intelligent Port of the Future. There will be opportunities to integrate various engineering disciplines - including electronic, electrical, mechanical and computing into a single system. You will be exposed to extensive use of complex port automation technology and intelligent inter-connected systems in PSA and our industry partners. You may also be involved in wide application of video analytics, artificial intelligence and participate in cross disciplinary projects that provide exposure in leadership and technology management.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical / Mechatronics / Computer / System Engineering
- Keen interest in Electrical Drives, SCADA, HMI and PLC technology
- Passionate about technology and innovation
- Proficient in Python programming
- Good understanding in network technologies (Ethernet, TCP/IP, Modbus, Profibus, etc)
- Knowledge in Matlab modelling and programming would be helpful
- Able to work under minimum supervision
- Strong leadership, self-motivated with good initiative, communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong team mentality and acceptance of responsibility for project completion
