Johnson & Johnson is currently recruiting for an Environmental Social Governance (ESG) Data & Reporting Lead (New Consumer Health Company). This position may be located in New Brunswick, NJ, or based within any of our locations in Singapore or the EMEA Region.

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Consumer Health business to create a new publicly traded company. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 24 months, and it will be subject to legal requirements including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as required, and other customary conditions and approvals.

It is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, this position may be conveyed with New Consumer Health. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to the successful candidate by New Consumer Health at an appropriate time and would be subject to any necessary consultation processes. Position Description: Supports the Head of Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) in driving ESG data coordination, disclosure preparation and reporting by managing the flow of ESG-related information across the business. Key responsibilities:

  • Drive the preparation of mandatory and voluntary ESG-related disclosure requirements (e.g., SEC, EU CSRD, CSDD, UK MSA, etc.) including the completion of ESG reports (e.g., Health Lives Mission) and ESG rating agency reporting (MSCI, CDP)
  • Oversee the collection, aggregation, and analysis of ESG data used for ESG reporting, including monitoring ESG software systems and identifying opportunities for enhancement
  • Support the monitoring and maintenance of effective controls in standard ESG reporting processes aligned to relevant control frameworks (e.g., AICPA, COSO), and for sustainability reporting, liaise with Controllership on processes and controls and other ESG related matters for reporting, and coordinate internal and external audit of ESG reporting
  • Oversee the execution of priority topic assessment and refreshes when necessary
  • Manage, guide, and develop direct reports who are leading key processes supporting the ESG sub-function (e.g., data collection, analysis, submission for disclosure, etc.) and shape overall development of personnel
  • Engage ESG data owners to foster cross-functional collaboration and a culture of ESG; consider evolving ESG reporting requirements and internal governance
Works closely with the following key functions on ESG data and reporting:
  • General counsel/Legal - Legal review of ESG-related disclosures before external publication
  • General counsel/Corporate Secretary - Reviews ESG reporting and disclosures before publication
  • Finance/Controllership - Reviews and approves ESG-related disclosures (e.g., SEC filing)
  • Data & technology - Implements and manages IT systems and architecture for ESG data collection and reporting

Qualifications
Position Requirements:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in related field (e.g., communication, legal, sustainability, finance/CPA)
  • 7+ years of experience leading ESG/sustainability reporting
  • ESG data analysis/reporting expert
  • Knowledge of ESG technology platforms and ESG reporting standards (e.g., GRI, SASB)
  • Knowledge of mandatory ESG disclosure requirements (e.g., SEC, EU CSRD)
Preferred Requirements/Competencies:
  • Strong business acumen with 5+ years of consumer experience
  • Experience working for a global organization and across multiple internal and external stakeholder groups
  • Experience managing staff
