Esg Manager (environmental Technical Practitioner)

Job Description


We are currently working with an International Data Centre Provider which has a significant presence in Singapore to help bring in an ESG Manager (Environmental Technical Practitioner) to augment their existing team in view of their increasing need to meet the growing demand for sustainability support and expansion in the country. Job Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead the development and execution of a strong climate/decarbonization roadmap, which includes a Net Zero Roadmap
  • Develop appropriate approaches and strategies for environmental management, including circularity, water, waste, and energy, and apply suitable techniques like life cycle assessments, impact measurements, and supply chain management
  • Lead the development, monitoring, management, and execution of suitable management systems solutions (e.g., Consolidated Digital Platforms/Dashboards) for data management and carbon management in line with relevant standards/frameworks/guidelines and conduct gap assessments
  • Ensure alignment with relevant regulations, standards, frameworks, and guidelines (e.g., CDP, TCFD, ISSB, TNFD, SDGs), and compliance with the expectations of ratings agencies like Sustainalytics, S&P, and CDP, as well as financial exchanges\' listing requirements
  • Lead policy development, such as developing relevant Groupwide Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Manage environmental due diligence, including procurement/tender, investments, and M&A
  • Support EHS and other relevant functions in various environmental initiatives/activities to enhance project delivery efficiency and effectiveness
  • Contribute to reporting/disclosure and communication efforts, both internally and externally
  • Research and source potential technological/innovative solutions, from sourcing to implementation, working closely with R&D
  • Explore potential new ventures through environmental efficiency measures/strategies, technological/innovative solutions/provisions, etc.
Job Requirements:
  • A Bachelor\'s Degree in Environment Science/Technology or related fields.
  • At least 7 years of experience in the field of environmental management is required, with a focus on climate change, decarbonisation strategies, and other aspects of environmental management such as water, waste/resources management, and energy.
  • Familiar with relevant local and international regulations, standards, frameworks, and guidelines, such as TCFD, CDP, TNFD, SDG\'s, GRI, ISSB, IIRC, etc.
  • Strong experience in using digital platforms for data consolidation, analysis, and management to generate reports and recommendations is essential.
  • Additional project management experience would be beneficial for supporting functions and departments across different geographies.
  • Willingness to travel for work is required.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English are necessary.
  • Accreditation in ISO 14001 or similar professional bodies would be advantageous.
