About the role:

The Associate Talent Operations Director for APAC MFG is responsible for managing the MFG Resource Management team in the region, increasing efficiency across the region and markets, and ensuring that the right people are working on the right things according to budgets, timelines, skillsets and career development opportunities. This role will liaise with Client Leads, Discipline Leads, Finance, Operations, Senior Management, and the broader Talent team to effectively schedule and assign resources to facilitate the delivery of work. You\'ll be involved at all stages of the delivery process, including:

  • Work with team leads to continually assess account needs, and develop a resource plan to ensure we continue to deliver best-in-class work and consistently meet deadlines set by our clients - leading the reallocation of resources where necessary.
  • Monitor group/region bandwidth and maximize utilization across team resources
  • Lead regular resource allocation meetings to keep up-to-date with work demand needs and make recommendations based on budgets, timelines and clear knowledge and understanding of skill sets across all departments
  • Partner closely with Business Operations and Finance to successfully manage quarterly, bi-annual, and annual scoping processes. On an ongoing basis, own the talent related data within the regional staff plan, which serves as a critical and shared source of information across the region.
  • Partner with other Client leadership, Finance, Operations and network Talent teams on a daily and weekly basis for intra-group and intra-office resource sharing and planning.
  • Check-in on resource and line managers as work progresses; ensuring the resource plan continues to satisfy team needs and to help resolve any obstacles to completion that may arise along the way.
  • Escalate to the appropriate department stakeholders any information related to: group rotations, retention/employee relations, increase or decrease in workflow and projected staffing needs
  • Partner with Recruitment to identify when internal resources are not available to fit talent needs, prepare staff or freelance position requests.
  • Maintain an up to date allocations database for group/region, flagging any resource bandwidth to appropriate stakeholders.
  • When needed, work as a liaison and confidante; both within the client teams as well as at an executive level, therefore, the ability to maintain confidential information is crucial
  • Assess the training needs of employees on an ongoing basis; ensuring the Talent team is briefed on the needs, and encouraging employees to seek out training or development should their capabilities fall short of what they\'re required to do.
  • Work with line managers and mentors to identify and assess team member\'s interests and development areas, and look to assign them to work and/or training to support their career path.
  • May additionally act in the capacity of career advisor, as individuals may seek out the Resource Manager\'s advice and input.
  • Accountable for maintaining, analyzing and publishing the following: Utilization & billability reports, capacity plan by region, trends and forecast summaries, timesheet compliance and other ad hoc reports as requested.
Requirements:

Extremely well organized, process-driven and dedicated, with an outgoing personality and can-do attitude. Specifically:
  • Previous experience of operating as a Senior Manager within a Resource Management function
  • Experience in a digital agency environment, supporting the delivery of digital campaigns that were delivered on time, on budget and which met client expectations. Must possess a strong understanding of how digital media campaigns are delivered and staffed.
  • A proven track record in managing resources effectively, including the ability to report on effort and resolve scheduling challenges and conflicts that arise along the way
  • Experience setting up new office locations within the region
  • Previous experience in a RM leadership role and management of junior RM talent
  • A strong verbal and written communicator, able to build strong relationships with people at all levels of seniority
  • Assertive conflict-resolution and problem-solving skills
  • An ability to bring the best out of people; helping them develop their capabilities and improve their confidence, whilst motivating them to succeed and helping them maintain focus when necessary
  • A strong work ethic; able to work under pressure and juggle multiple responsibilities to meet deadlines and deliver results
  • Exceptional diligence and attention to detail as well as resourcefulness and quick, practical thinking in a demanding environment
