The role involves working closely with system stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements for system enhancements, new features, bug fixes, and the integration of new subject areas for data reporting and analytics. You will be responsible for performing impact assessments of changes across upstream and downstream systems, especially those affecting the DataMart and reporting infrastructure. The position requires designing, developing, and deploying robust technical solutions, including source code, batch scripts, complex SQL stored procedures, user-defined functions, triggers, SSIS packages, and SSRS reports. You will follow the organization's Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to ensure quality delivery of projects and enhancements, including the creation and maintenance of functional specifications, technical design documentation, test plans, and user guides. The role also includes investigating and resolving production issues escalated by the IT operations team by identifying root causes, applying immediate workarounds, and implementing long-term solutions. Additionally, you will take part in scheduled maintenance tasks such as annual disaster recovery drills and quarterly server patching, while also handling ad-hoc IT support requests including data extraction, logic tracing, and addressing user inquiries related to system behavior and data accuracy.
Requirements
The ideal candidate holds a recognized bachelor's or master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Banking and Finance, or a related discipline. You should have at least 2 years of experience in SQL Server development, particularly with SSIS and SSRS, along with a minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in C#.NET development. Familiarity with the SDLC process, experience in business requirement gathering, and conducting functional and feasibility studies are essential. A strong foundation in SQL is required, including the ability to write complex stored procedures, functions, and triggers, as well as a sound understanding of database systems, OLAP, and ETL frameworks. Proficiency in SQL Server installation, configuration, and performance tuning is highly valued. The role demands excellent problem-solving and communication skills, the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment, and a high level of ownership and initiative. A positive attitude, technical curiosity, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are key attributes for success in this position.
