Introduction

The Economist Events, the award-winning events department of The Economist Group, produces 70+ events a year and is seeking an Event Operations Executive to join our growing team. Our operations team is responsible for all event logistics and budget management, ensuring that events meet the expectations of our delegates and sponsors and that financial targets are met. The Event Operations Executive works closely with the Events Managers.

The successful candidate will be based in Singapore and be responsible for the execution of our virtual and live events in Singapore and APAC region. The successful applicant should have one to two year(s) of experience in the events industry, be a team player but confident to operate independently and be comfortable working in a regional setting.

Accountabilities

How you will contribute:

• Execute virtual or hybrid programs and lead on-site execution
• Set, communicate, maintain timelines and priorities on projects through timeframes, status reporting, emails etc.
• Assist Event Manager to deliver meetings and events on time, within budget and in line with agreed concepts and proposals
• Build, maintain and develop strong relationships with vendors
• Manage logistics (operational planning, quality, budget, resources)
• Work closely with internal teams and maintain good communication within the project team members
• Handle research for upcoming events
• On site management, including vendors and team management

• Diploma/Degree qualification in Business/Marketing/Communications
• Technologically savvy and comfortable using new tools or software
• Good level of project management, organizational and time management skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Excellent eye for detail and able to meet multiple deadlines
• Applicants must be eligible to work in Singapore
