Job Description


Head of Working Capital & Digital Solution (WCDS), GTFD APAC, is responsible for leadership of the working capital and digital solution including supply chain finance business and the team across APAC coverage countries. Supply chain finance business focus is structured open account working capital solutions primarily payables finance, receivables finance and structured/conventional documentary trade solutions. WCDS APAC Head is responsible for expanding SMBC\'s origination, structuring and execution capability in the region focusing on payables and receivables finance solutions but also transforming the business model to build efficient distribution capabilities. As WCDS APAC Head, responsibilities include managing and supervising marketing teams activities including origination, negotiation, internal approval process and execution of all trade finance businesses for corporate customers in cooperation with the related internal / external teams, groups, departments, country managers, and/or branches.

SMBC APAC has embarked on a comprehensive digital transformation initiative for the region to enable and bolster digital transaction banking solutions with corporates. The GTFD WCDS APAC Head is also responsible for supporting the digital enablement of supply chain finance implementations aligned with the digital strategy for the bank, across transaction banking and embedded financial services. The WCDS APAC Head will work in collaboration with the Asia Innovation Centre that leads the APAC Digital Strategy for driving the adoption of digital SCF solutions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • establish business strategies for the APAC coverage countries and achieve GTFD APAC\'s as well as APAC Digital Initiative goals and KPIs
  • managing and supervising marketing activities of in-country teams including supporting origination and execution of all trade finance products under supply chain finance in the region for corporate customers
  • lead the commercial activities of working capital financial solutions delivery to customers, includes the ownership for new revenue generation by establishing the framework of sales planning, sales promotion and new product development, and to lead a team to execute the customer engaging activities.
  • Build strategic account plans based on existing customer base and approach to engage with new customer.
  • Lead the team to engage with customers to help achieving their business outcomes leveraging digital and trade finance capability
  • Establish and execute the sales enablement framework to development go-to-market plan, run pipeline development initiatives.
  • Contributing to developing the strategic priorities and focus area for new digital transformation initiatives.
  • Providing advisory to the business leaders and management team in support of defining business outcomes and KPIs
Requirements
  • Over 10 years of relevant working experience in the banking industry especially with strong hands-on experience in trade finance and supply chain financing
  • At least 5 years of management experience
  • Experience and strong track record in digitalisation of processes and working with FinTech companies
  • Minimum bachelor\'s degree. MBA degree will be a plus
  • Strong strategic thinking,
  • Entrepreneurial and ability to work autonomously and take ownership
  • Ability to work with senior stakeholders
  • Effective cross-functional collaborator and communication
  • Able to frame an issue or opportunity from first principles
  • Flexibility & adaptability to adjust priorities according to business needs
