Job Description

Job PurposeThe Executive Engineer, BPLRT PR, is to provide engineering solutions to reliability problems affecting Power Rail. He will be required to independently conduct defect troubleshooting, failure analysis, reliability trending, and develop engineering solutions to the problems identified.Responsibilities1. Work in any SMRT Maintenance Depots or facilities.2. Work in rotating or fixed shifts (i.a.w. MOM guidelines).3. Work at heights to perform engineering activities (Training and qualifications will be provided by company).4. Support in budget planning and prudent use of budget.5. Comply with quality procedures, workplace safety and health requirements, security regulations and safety requirements.6. Work effectively with Ops and Maintenance staff from the Lines as well as other engineering departments to investigate defects. To develop methods, propose modifications and improve maintenance strategies to rectify them.7. Analyse and trend condition monitoring and defect data to identify reliability concerns. To develop methods, propose modifications and improve maintenance strategies to overcome them8. Draft technical work instructions for preventive and corrective maintenance activities.9. Identify and implement cost effective technologies to enhance performance and reliability of the systems.10. Review and update System Hazard Log and Risk Register.11. Support LTA and SMRT projects in reviewing project design specifications and ensure their adequacy for the safety, reliability, maintainability and operability. To provide other engineering support to the projects, as required.12. Identify and report any safety concerns at the workplace.13. Undertake any other tasks or functions that are incidental or ancillary to the performance of the works, as assigned by supervisor. (Training and qualifications will be provided by company, as required). Examples include

b. Respond to operations emergencies
c. Support the execution of projects; including verifying contractor\'s work completion, providing manpower to support project testing & commissioning, attendance to contractors, etc

Preparation of reportsQualifications & Work ExperienceDegree in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics Engineering from a recognised institutionPrevious Railway System experience would be advantageous.SkillsStrong leadership and interpersonal skills. Comfortable to work hands-on in a maintenance workshops environment alongside other Engineers, Assistant Engineers and Technical Officers. Must also be able to work in different shift timings, when required.Adept with diagnostics and reliability engineering methods such as FMECA, Fault Tree analysis, Weibull analysis and Damage Tolerance Analysis, etc.Strong analytical and decision-making abilitiesEffective organizational and planning skillsFluent in written and oral communication skills in EnglishSMRT Trains Ltd was incorporated in 1987 and operates Singapore\'s first mass rapid transit system.
