The RoleThe role of the EHR implementation specialist is to be responsible for implementation, configuration, training, and re-engineering of practice operations to support the successful adoption of an electronic hospital management and electronic hospital records software.ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe EHR implementation specialist, in partnership with team members and in line with the project plan, will interact directly with the users to design, configure, test, train, implement and support the use of the EHR software. The individual will be supported by an engineering/IT team and receive inputs from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) who will provide input on various business and clinical activities/workflows.Key accountabilitiesKey Accountabilities:

  • Serve as the main point of contact and application subject matter expert for the users during the implementation process; on site go-live support and post implementation phase, including optimisation.
  • Analyse and document the requirements of user workflow as they pertain to the implementation of electronic practice management and electronic medical records software.
  • Prepare recommendations and/or alternatives that address existing and potential areas of improvements in hospital operations. Redesign existing workflows to leverage the EHR/PM application and document, review and train future state workflows.
  • Create, utilise and implement customised training curriculum to train and instruct the users on the use the features of the electronic practice management and electronic medical records software effectively.
  • Provide regular status updates to project manager for all assigned tasks
  • Develop policies and procedures in support of clinical applications, ensuring best practice models for service delivery.
  • Lead and support teams to develop clinical data/documentation and workflow standardization.
  • Act as a change agent/escalation point for clinical issues and constraints in the identification, development, planning and implementation of clinical systems in support of quality patient care and professional practice.
  • Oversee and manage the prioritizing of functional change requests, reporting and monitoring of issues, and implementation of communication strategies.
  • Develop and supervise system end to end testing scenarios, conduct/oversees the End-Users User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Develop and supervise end-users training schedules and materials
  • Provision of support, and identifying opportunities for innovation and deployment of new clinical information technologies and systems.
  • Plan project goals & objectives and project timeline and preparation for management updates
Qualifications & ExperienceQualifications & Experience
  • Previous experience with hospital workflows
  • Experience with IT system analysis/documentation, end-user training/support and system testing Experience with instructional design and curriculum/training material development Experience with EMR / EHR system assisting with system implementation and support required (Absolutely Necessary)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Office & Outlook.
  • Experience working with computer networks and software development preferred.
  • At least 3 years of working experience in a clinical setting.
  • Experience in software development or testing.
  • Diploma or Degree in a healthcare discipline (nursing, allied health, medicine) preferably with experience in implementation of IT systems; or IT Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree or equivalent from a recognized / accredited institution.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or CITPM (Certified IT Project Management) (Preferred)
