[What the role is]

This is a 11-month contract as an Executive, Technical in The Sandbox.

[What you will be working on]

Support the development and delivery of impactful Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (S.T.E.A.M.) learning experiences for students and staff ensuring quality and timely set-up of Makers\xe2\x80\x99 Academy (MA) that will drive visitor-ship and other objectives of MA.

You will also be responsible for resource management, set up and materials preparation. You will assist in the development and delivery of quality programs and assist in ensuring the smooth operations of projects/events.

The role will ensure that all machinery, tools, and equipment are well-maintained and well-organized in a good working condition during workshop activities. This position also provides high-level technical support to staff and students in the safe operation and use of our equipment and facilities. This role requires demonstrated experience in operating and maintaining various MA\xe2\x80\x99s machinery, tools, and equipment.

[What we are looking for]

At least 3 years of relevant experience, with a good knowledge of physical science, design or its equivalent are preferred.

Should have knowledge/skills in mechanics and electronics e.g., handling mechanical workbench tools, 3D printing, laser cutting, craftsmanship preferably with some experience with prototyping and trouble shooting.

Must possess teaching or coaching experience, good decision making and communication skills. In addition, he/she must be adaptable, detail-oriented and a team player.

Additional pre-requisites that are advantageous:

Knowledge of concepts in science/technology (mainly physical / mechanical / electrical) and the ability to apply such knowledge in practical, engineering-type work is a plus.

Those with computer literacy in programming or CAD and knowledge of safe lab management practices will have an added advantage.
