Job Description




The Office of Admissions (OAM) oversees full-time undergraduate admissions, scholarships and financial aid. Reporting to the Provost\'s Office, OAM develops and implements policies and operations related to undergraduate admissions and award and administration of scholarships and financial aid, and markets the university\'s undergraduate programmes.

As Executive / Senior Executive / Assistant Manager (Financial Aid & Scholarships), the officer is primarily responsible for administering the university\'s financial aid and scholarship schemes. The officer will manage various financial aid schemes such as government and NUS Bursaries, as well as loans and external awards/grants and scholarship schemes, including the NUS Scholarships, ASEAN Undergraduate Scholarships and Science & Technology Undergraduate Scholarships.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage University and external financial aid schemes with the scope of work including making budget projections/reports/grant requests, liaising with faculties/donors/external bodies, overseeing applications/offers/acceptances, administering allocation and selection, making adjustments and disbursements and handling of queries etc.
  • Assist in administering University\'s and external scholarship schemes, from planning, to applications and selection, to offers and disbursements
  • Process financial aid applications
  • Participate in outreach activities locally and overseas
  • Assist/back-up colleagues in other administrative functions
  • Perform duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications
  • Recognised university qualifications and experience or an equivalent combination of experience and/or training in the education industry. Fresh graduates with relevant internship experience may apply.
  • Possess understanding of issues related to financial aid and scholarship
  • Experience in the administration of financial aid and scholarships will be advantageous
  • Meticulous and demonstrates good organisational skills, including the ability to plan, prioritise and coordinate a portfolio of programmes and schemes within tight deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communications skills
  • Able to independently manage and work well with various groups of external and internal stakeholders, including staff, faculty and students
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and database management
