Job Description

Imperium Commodity Search is working with an international agri-business producing & trading grains and fertilizers who is seeking experienced traders with existing and transferrable books in the Fertilizer space to join their team in Singapore. After a steady 2020 they are looking to ramp up their activities and, with regional offices in all five continents and employees still currently working from home, can also facilitate traders looking to work remotely.
Key Responsibilities / Tasks

• Responsible for managing and trading an existing and self-generated portfolio of fertilizer products (potash. Nitrogen, NPKs, phosphates, speciality fertilizers etc.) within the APAC market
• Maintaining and developing relationships with new and existing clients while seeking new market opportunities within Asia Pacific
• Performing regular market research to assess current pricing trends and managing potential business risk
• Working closely with traffic / operations / chartering departments to ensure timely, accurate trades and a smooth supply chain from beginning to end
• Responsible for building a profitable trading book in the targeted region
• Monitor and analyse export and import data, providing accurate market analysis and data
• Reports into the Director of Asia Fertilizers

Key Qualifications / Experience

• Minimum 7-10 years of experience trading/selling fertilizer products within the agricultural/commodities industry (potash. Nitrogen, NPKs, phosphates, speciality fertilizers etc.) in APAC markets
• Candidate must have existing and transferrable portfolio / relevant relationships
• Positive track record of trading and building relationships within the fertilizer space
• Fluency in English is essential, other languages are a plus
• Strong knowledge of the APAC Fertilizer markets
• Experience with commodity derivates / hedging is a plus
• Solid understanding of shipping and logistics processes including export/shipping documentation
• Good fundamental knowledge of the commodity markets as well as a strong numerical and economic background.
• Flexibility to travel regularly
• Ideally will be located in Singapore with full existing right to work
