Field Application Scientist

Job Description


We are seeking a highly motivated Field Application Scientist (FAS) to join Agilent Cell Analysis. The FAS will be responsible for product demonstrations, installations, and on-site customer training in the Asia region, including SEA, ANZ, India, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Macau. The FAS will provide pre- and post-sales support, conduct technology seminars, workshops, data analysis and troubleshooting, Collaborating closely with sales account managers, the FAS will act as the primary interface between customers and Agilent\'s internal teams for technical sales activities and scientific issue resolution. Our customers include major pharmaceutical companies, biotech companies, and research universities. Key Responsibilities:
  • Provides scientific and product/applications-focused continuity to the sales process and customer experience through pre- and post-sales support.
  • Qualify scientific applications and provide technical input for bid proposals, projects, and technical documents.
  • Deliver scientific and methodical insights about Agilent\xe2\x80\x99s products and services through technical presentations and product demonstrations.
  • Conduct product installation, customer training, and advice on product utilization to enhance customer processes, applications, and research goals.
  • Develop and apply scientific methods, theories, assays and research techniques to provide technical solutions.
  • May work with vendors, sales teams, and internal partners to ensure optimal system solutions for customers.
  • Collaborate with customers to write and publish scientific manuscripts or Agilent-branded application notes.
  • Ensure product applications meet specifications and contribute to client support strategy.
  • Provide follow-up support to Agilent Sales, Customer Service, R&D, Marketing and/or Support teams by disseminating technical information and sharing customer feedback.
  • Deliver applications and product training to internal sales or support teams.
  • Represent Agilent at trade shows, present at webinars/seminars, and contribute to scientific and marketing material publication.
  • Attend conferences to maintain scientific expertise and stay informed about emerging applications and research fields.
  • Act as the voice of the customer to influence future product and application design.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree, preferably with M.S. or Ph.D. in life sciences, biotechnology, cell biology, bioengineering, biochemistry, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on/laboratory experience in operating flow cytometry instruments and conducting different in-vitro cellular based assays.
  • Extensive knowledge of cellular biology and flow cytometry assay development, including analysis of cell surface or internal markers using fluorescent-dye-labelled antibodies.
  • Experience in one or more of the following applications: monitoring haematological malignancies or immunodeficiency disease, DNA/RNA content analysis (e.g. chromosome analysis, apoptosis, cell cycle analysis, cell proliferation/generational analysis), cellular viability analysis, phagocytosis, membrane potential, and cell signalling.
  • Dynamic presentation and communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to analyze and interpret customer data for support and sales purposes.
  • Prior experience in customer support or conducting training on flow cytometry instrumentation is advantageous.
  • Highly motivated individual who takes ownership, collaborates effectively, and delivers high-quality support internally and externally to assist in business growth.
  • Willingness to travel within the designated territory (60%-70% of the time).
