Field Engineer
.
The
Field Engineer
will be responsible for the safe, timely, and quality execution of
installation, maintenance, repair, and modernization
activities for complex
electromechanical systems and equipment
. This role requires a high degree of technical expertise, diagnostic skill, and a commitment to ensuring all
equipment
operates reliably and in full compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary on-site technical representative, ensuring high customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Execution
Perform
preventive and corrective maintenance
on various types of complex electro-mechanical
equipment
.
Diagnose and troubleshoot technical faults using schematics, diagnostic tools, and practical expertise, and execute prompt
repairs
on the
systems
.
Oversee and perform the
installation, commissioning, or modernisation
of new or existing
units
, ensuring project specifications are met.
Conduct thorough testing, adjustments, and calibration to optimize
system
performance and safety features.
Respond efficiently to
emergency call-outs
(breakdowns/failures) outside of normal working hours as part of a rotation.
Safety and Compliance
Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols and local, national, and international engineering and safety standards.
Ensure all work areas are maintained safely, using appropriate PPE and following lock-out/tag-out procedures for the
equipment
.
Complete necessary safety documentation, risk assessments, and permits-to-work before commencing tasks.
Conduct
routine safety inspections
and log audits as required by law.
Documentation and Communication
Maintain accurate, detailed records of all service, repair, installation, and testing activities for the
equipment
using required company software.
Generate concise and professional
technical reports
for the Service Manager and clients.
Effectively communicate complex technical issues, progress updates, and necessary maintenance actions to the client/building management.
Provide technical support and hands-on guidance to apprentices or junior technicians as needed.
Requirements
Education:
Technical Diploma or Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Technology, or a closely related field.
Experience:
Minimum of
3 years
of proven field experience working with the installation, maintenance, and repair of complex electro-mechanical
equipment
or industrial machinery.
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of electrical circuits, complex control systems (PLCs/Microprocessors), hydraulics, mechanical drive systems, and heavy industrial components.
