Job Details:

Job Summary: Responsible for the daily and scheduled routine serviceability checks and repairs of all installed electronics equipment in MUTF training villages, Live Firing Buildings and Battle Inoculation Course, covering computer servers, tracking systems, Fixed and PTZ Cameras, Target Mechanisms, Blast Effect Simulators (BES)conducting fault-finding and workshop repairs so that key performance indications for components are met and performance positively contributes to the overall business goals. This position typically works under close supervision and direction.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs fault-finding of electronic and electro-mechanic equipment by use of computer-based test programs and general purpose test equipment
  • Perform on-site troubleshooting and replacement of all faulty installed electronics equipment.
  • Preparation, deployment and set up of all support equipment such as BES, Target Mechanisms and Batteries for all Exercises and Live Firing Support
  • Provide on-call and standby technical support on 24/7 basis, as and requested by the Operations Manager
  • Repair faulty units by replacing defective components and retest before release
  • Perform in-house preventative maintenance of major modules
  • Provide reports on all work accomplished
  • Suggest improvements in the Maintenance Department where applicable
  • Maintain a sound knowledge of OH&S and take an active part in safety issues as required
  • In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder may also be required to perform other duties assigned by the supervisor/manager from time to time, as may be reasonably required of them.
Minimum Job Requirements:
  • Diploma/NITEC in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field knowledge of fault-finding to component level and remedial service of microprocessor-based electromechanical devices. At least 1-year relevant working knowledge with the understanding of maintenance process. Must be computer hardware and software literacy. Must have good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work in a stressful environment and beyond working hours including weekends. Willing to be deployed to remote areas. Must maintain and clear security clearance
