About SC Ventures
SC Ventures ("SCV") was established in 2018 with the purpose of "Rewiring the DNA in Banking" by bringing three distinct areas together:

  • The eXellerator Lab, enabling innovation at large in Standard Chartered ( the " Bank ") by supporting intrapreneurs and their ideas, collaborating with fintech\'s through the SCV Fintech Bridge and engaging with clients and co-creation ideas.
  • The Investment Fund ("Fund"), tasked to acquire minority stakes in fintech companies ("fintechs") whose technology has been successfully validated in the Group.
  • Venture building, with the objective of exploring new business models ("ventures"), in the way it engages existing new customers and markets
There are c.65 team members (excluding individual ventures), including dedicated colleagues from the Group\'s Bank\'s support functions, based in Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Nairobi, London and San Francisco.
About Solv Group
  • Solv Group is a B2B fintech platform providing a marketplace for supply chain financing, B2B e-commerce, buy now pay later and business services (e.g., ERP, tax) to the micro SMEs in the supply chains of the world\'s leading multinational companies (e.g., Samsung, BAT) and the financial institutions in India, Southeast Asia (Vietnam, Malaysia) and Africa (Kenya, Ghana).
  • Solv Group is backed by Standard Chartered Banking Group (90% ownership) and SBI Holdings of Japan (10% ownership). Solv Group is launching its Series B round to order to raise funds for scale up of the business in India and the other markets as well enter new markets (e.g., Bangladesh, Pakistan).
  • Solv Group brings in the MNC relationships from Standard Chartered Banking Group and onboards hundreds of thousands of qualified SMEs in the MNC supply chains. The financial institutions on the Solv platform provide credit to the micro SMEs. The Solv platform takes a transaction fee from the financial institutions and SMEs for providing the marketplace services, including an AI-powered credit scoring as a service custom built for assessing the creditworthiness of micro SMEs in emerging markets.
The Business Analyst (BA) will sit in and assist in finance and accounting processes of Solv Holding Company (also known as Power2MSE) and its operating companies in the various countries. This requires intimate knowledge of accounting rules, policies and processes related to technology and IP treatments in Singapore and India. The BA is expected to provide support for the day-to-day running of the business operations and processes in a structured and agile way to support Solv Group in all phases from product development, go-live, run and scaling up. This may include helping to organize workshops and other relevant meetings. A critical part of the role will be for the BA to assist with providing business critical insights using analytics and building valuation models for future fundraises. The BA is expected to support, and in some cases, take the lead in ensuring cross-functional and cross-country alignment of goals and execution.

Responsibilities
Overall
  • Assist in driving accounting policies and processes in Singapore and the various Solv countries with the finance managers in each location and with external auditors
  • Assist in the budgeting and financial analysis and developing business strategies
  • Assist in managing various projects and initiatives and undertake ad hoc thematic work for the Venture Lead / CEO and the Operations Lead / COO
  • Set up governance cadence and assist with regular senior management and board meetings and ad hoc meetings including any follow up actions
  • Develop efficient business processes to support the growing business.
  • Take active lead regarding set-up of risk management framework, policies and standards
  • Ability to proactively do project planning, execution, follow ups
  • Interface with relevant stakeholders to overcome obstacles to implementation
  • Lead with the preparation and communication of high-quality and timely submissions of materials for the Venture to internal stakeholders and external clients
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the Venture Lead / CEO and Operations Lead / COO

Role Specific Technical Competencies
  • Chartered accountant in Singapore and India, as these are the critical markets for the venture
