In Shell Jurong Island ('SJI'), this will involve managing Opex, Capital, contract/tender reviews and analysis on business performance. SJI is a key Chemicals only site in the Chemicals & Products organization within Royal Dutch Shell group. It is in the heart of the energy transition and presents exciting opportunities as the site embarks on a transformation journey to embrace new digital ways of working, growing our differentiated products portfolio as well as new projects in energy efficiency, waste-water reduction etc. As such, Finance Advisors can expect to be involved in various projects and initiatives both within the site and across the wider Downstream value chain. The Finance Advisor will be expected to work in Jurong Island. What's the role The Finance Advisor will do a variety of activities/opportunities assigned to them by the Finance Manager based on Value/Risk (e.g., control frameworks concerns, performance management system issues, large investments, complex contracts) depending on the requirements, of the specific activity: Deliver the full suite of Finance support (including planning and appraisal, tax, treasury & accounting) autonomously and coordinate the involvement with other functional stakeholders. To be an integral part of the Production Unit (PU) Delivery Team within the PUs in SJI in delivering concise insights and driving the right discussions/actions on cost & capital performance, as well as partnering with them to achieve the various Mission Critical Tactics for the site. Independently ensure that a proper functioning control framework is in place and that risks are properly understood, reflected and managed. Independently ensure value and risks are made transparent and understood in both decision making and in performance management. This would involve doing economic assessments and valuations for capital projects and major Contracts & Procurement contracts and providing the necessary commercial edge and tension to drive value. Ensure a fit for purpose performance management system is in place. In activities where Finance Operations and Business act together to deliver, lead/initiate structural improvement projects and leaves the accountability for delivery with the right people. Brings new proposals of high value to the Finance Manager who decides on the resource allocation. Actively look for opportunities to reduce non-value adding Finance activity ('demand management'). Maximise use of Finance Operations in delivery of processes. Interfaces Finance Advisors, as part of a pool supporting the business: Work on various opportunities across multiple activities and are not dedicated to a specific activity, asset or business partner. The work they perform will change over time and be prioritised based on value and risk, and professional development. Will on specific projects/transactions work with business stakeholders as the voice of Finance to deliver as 'One Finance' together with the Centre of Excellence and Finance Operations. Has the opportunity to present and work with senior leaders within SJI as well as those across Downstream Class of Business when involved in cross-business projects. Acts across organisational boundaries as required in the specific activity What we need from you We are keen to hear from candidates with around 4-8 years of professional experience in finance with the following skills/qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accountancy/Business or related degrees Experience in Financial Planning and Analysis and projects economic evaluation preferred Experience in similar Oil & Gas industry or in manufacturing sites will be advantageous Team player with good interpersonal skills, who can work effectively with multi-disciplinary teams and positively influence across all levels to ensure that projects and deliverables are met Adaptability and agility - to be able to proactively challenge status quo and deliver positive business outcomes About Shell Singapore Shell is one the largest foreign investors in Singapore and began operations in 1891.
