Job Description


As a key member of the Executive Management team, the Finance Director will report to the Group CFO and be the key business partner to the Singapore CEO. The FD will assume a strategic role in the overall management of the company in Singapore. The FD will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, deal analysis and negotiations, process improvement and automation.

The role should also support any other jurisdictions sitting under Singapore from an oversight perspective (e.g. Indonesia, Brunei etc.) The local finance teams in these countries should report through the Singapore FD.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of the organization.
  • Responsible for full set and consolidated accounts for the group and timely reporting to Head Office in Hong Kong.
  • Prepare and analyse management report by divisions and legal entities.
  • Performance review and analysis, budgeting and forecasting and cash flow management
  • Present and involve in monthly country review with Head Office in Hong Kong. Provide insights on the business activities and highlight factors affecting the current and future business activities.
  • Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with the regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
  • Ensure credibility of Finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts.
  • Provide executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities.
  • Provide leadership in the development for the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives.
  • Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/ strategies and regulatory action.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior executives so as to identify their needs and seek full range of business solutions.
  • Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
  • Spear head process improvement and automation and take hands-on lead position of developing, implementing and maintaining the system.
  • Work with Automation Centre of Excellence team to ensure smoothness and ensure accuracy and efficiency of the BOT process.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Accountancy or Finance / ACCA/ ISCA
  • Minimum 10 years relevant experience. Experience in audit firm (Big 4) would be a plus but not compulsory.
  • Able to work independently in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Self-motivated, hands-on with a high degree of commitment to meet deadlines, targets and objectives
  • Able to communicate effectively with staff at all levels
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and other office applications
