Transformation Responsible to: Finance Director JOB PURPOSE: (Briefly summarise the overall purpose of the role).
  • Develop innovative and sustainable ways to improve the management of people, processes and systems (PPS), working alongside other finance professionals in high-performing teams.
  • Oversee the Group financial planning process and its operational execution by working closely with the Finance Director and Business Analysis team.
  • Drive the successful implementation of next generation digital finance capabilities and systems to modernise the processes and to transform service delivery.
  • Develop capabilities of finance professionals to support the growth and transformation of the organisation.
ACCOUNTABILITIES: (Describe the primary duties and responsibilities of the role). 1. Process: Financial Planning i. Support the Finance Director in the areas of budget oversight which includes ensuring annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting and mid-term strategic plans are run smoothly with timely submission in conjunction with department managers. ii. Develops effective reporting tools for the business unit with key performance indicators to identify cost saving opportunities, efficiency gains and measure effectiveness. iii. Prepare reports, dashboards and presentations using visualisation tools to Board of Directors and Senior Management Team. iv. Conduct simulations of budget scenarios to support planning which may require market research, data mining and the use of business intelligence tools. v. Assist in risk assessments. vi. Support corporate exercises such as fund raising, JV, M&A, IPO, licensing and understanding the relevant regulations and tax laws. vii. Building financial models and performing valuation analyses such discounted cash flow, market ratios, Black Scholes, Binomial etc. viii. Assisting in the management and execution of due diligence processes. ix. Provides finance support in the expansion of the business e.g. internationalisation, opening of new markets, development of new products and its associated business case development. Drive the upgrade of financial systems and tools via corporate performance management platforms (OLAP, BI) to automate budgeting, analytics and reporting functions which will enable management to quickly and accurately assess financial performance and trends with greater productivity and accuracy. ii. Streamline financial processes through automation such as Robotic
Process Automation (RPA), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cloud ERP and other workflow/reporting automation tools. iii. Design and re-engineer critical financial and business processes (procure to pay, order to cash, record to report) and process improvements that will improve the efficiency in financial performance through end to end design and execution of the project (road-map, timelines, budgets, resources, user requirements and specifications, functional and user acceptance testings etc). 3. People i. Prepare the management and finance team through policies, training and communication towards having processes and systems in compliance with public capital markets. 4. Obtain funding from government agencies to support the initiatives around
PPS. 5. Any other duties that will be designated by the Finance Director to meet exigencies of work including being the corporate head office point person for advisory/guidance of financial planning and transformation matters. 6. In addition to your Normal Duties, you may be required to undertake alternative or additional duties from time to time or to transfer to another part of the business subject to prior consultation with you. 7. Conducts all job-related activities according to regulatory requirements, global guidelines and TauRx policies and procedures EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: (List the education and experience required to perform the primary responsibilities of the job. Equivalent combinations of education and experience should be noted). Education:
\xe2\x96\xaa Business or Accounting Degree or Equivalent Professional Qualification (CA/ACCA/CIMA) or preferably Double Degree in Business/Accounting and IT Experience:
\xe2\x96\xaa At least more than 10 years in finance, systems and commercial experience
\xe2\x96\xaa Background in life sciences and a basic understanding of the drug development GEN525-AD-01 v2 (effective date 26 June 2017) Page 2 of 3 process preferable but if none, candidates should be interested in the subject matter Skills/Knowledge:
\xe2\x96\xaa Ability to think critically, plan, implement, and administer financial information and control systems
\xe2\x96\xaa Familiar in implementing computerised accounting systems such as ERP and its data structure
\xe2\x96\xaa Used Corporate Performance Tools such as Business Intelligence and/or OLAP with visualisation
\xe2\x96\xaa Advanced Microsoft Excel (Pivot Table, lookup, What-If, Macro, VBA, Power BI, )
\xe2\x96\xaa Superior skills with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Project, Access)
\xe2\x96\xaa Strong financial modelling experience
\xe2\x96\xaa Technically competent with up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and practices and tax laws
\xe2\x96\xaa Financially astute with good analytical skills and detailed oriented
\xe2\x96\xaa Strong inter-personal (emotional intelligence), communication (negotiation and influencing) and presentation skills, and be comfortable interacting with executive-level management \xe2\x96\xaa Sound business understanding and acumen leading to ability to provide financial guidance for making optimal decisions \xe2\x96\xaa Broad based commercial awareness to manage risk versus return trade-offs.
